After a short hiatus in the development of OpenPoké (I was afraid, remember?), Tony passing the project to Yoro and taking it back later, the team so far has continued working on this project. Unfortunately, it's not easy being the only one actively working on it.

Cearn has a lot of professional stuff to do (he's a number cruncher I think), and I'm glad I can always ask him for assistance on the more difficult stuff and/or heavy math.

Tony's... just Tony. I have no idea what he does all the time and frankly, I don't think I want to know XD.

I myself have other things to do as well. And I don't just code the game, but all the development tools as well!

The team could really use somebody who can code along with me. There's a lot of things that need to be done. This has a few requirements though. You must have a considerable amount of free time. Enough to submit some usable code every week or so. In the past, I've asked a lot of people to help me with stuff, only to get one or two barely usable things from them and nothing but empty promises and excuses. That doesn't work, so please don't offer to help coding if you can see the above happen to you.

The second requirement is that you must know how the original Pokémon games work. This is fairly logical. If you don't know, consider why I post this on a board best known for rom hacking , and remember that Google is your friend, and I do research too.

The third is that you must know how to code in C on the GBA. We're using the official Nintendo SDK at the moment, but I'm waiting for Cearn to port it to DevKitPro.

By the way, if you'd like to do actual game content, that's possible too but not as high a priority.

GBA? A DS version would be much cooler IMO. You could keep it GBA-style, but use the additional power (c'mon, FOUR EXTENDED ROTATION 16-BIT BITMAPS PER SCREEN) to do huge maps, kickass special effects, etc. DS is GBA++, really, so porting it wouldn't be hard either. And then I could help because I actually code for the DS.

I know quite a bit about G/S's inner workings, but most of it is where Routine X is located and how it works, how this data is processed to create this information, etc; not the gameplay mechanics so much as the raw technical stuff. (I do know things like the damage algorithms, but they're piss-easy to find online, so you probably have them already. ) Is this of any use to you?

Not really, Hype. I have docs with damage algorithms, and personal experience that says "GBA++" is about right compared to C/C++. It's not that easy to me. Thanks anyway.

Anybody else?

I'll just write it once more...

Overworld is pretty much playable. Animated tiles (flowers, water and stuff) are supported. There's a small but noticable bug in the map scroller, tall grass does not animate, the ledges act flat and several inter-map warp animations are missing.

Inventory system is missing, but the item data is there. Nearly all monster data is in, but the monster management system is also missing. This includes things like injecting experience points and stuff.

Battle system is completely missing.
