Hmm. Looks fine to me if you plan on adding the detail. I would recomend taking that little random piece (cliff part) out on the middle right, ploped right in the middle of the main area. It just looks .. weird

Looks good other then that.

Then Mario can go down the fault. Though maybe I should leave it hidden until the event. I'll think about it more later.


NO! Why would you tell us what was going to happen. Thats probably one of the best ideas for an event ever. Anyway it looks nice but maybe a few rocks on land would make it look better.

Well, more new screens of SMW: DWA. Again, I've mainly been working on my overworld. But this time, it was urgent- I had to move Peppermint Fields to the Vanilla Dome submap. This leaves me only one submap with which to make a World, and I had already planned for World 4 to be on the Vanilla Dome map.... Oh well. Guess it'll take up the last one. Anyways, here's 2 new Submaps. One is Peppermint Fields' new location...


....which made it smaller....


....And here's Bowser's submap! Yes, it's a lava world, and I just LOVE this palette. ...I wanted it to be more center-of-the-world-like, though... This place is SOOO boiling hot, you can't have a Cape in here! Bring a cape, and.... It burns to ashes. (I'll most likely need a new custom block for that which turns Mario into Super Mario if he has a Cape....) This is World 8. And guess what? It really IS the center of the world, so to speak. And yes, you will be crossing that lava pit. But wait, notice anything MISSING here? Like, say... The bridge to Bowser's Castle? :O

By the way, I need some feedback help here: Since I moved Peppermint Fields, I've opened up a big old hole where it was. I'm thinking about moving Monkey Jungle to that location, thus freeing a submap. Thoughts on this?

Edit: New pic in place of the old one for Peppermint Fields. Someone on IRC (Not on this server, by the way) mentioned that those hills didn't look right (More like an implied mention of that), so I decided to mess around with the shared palette of the Vanilla Dome/Bowser's Valley submaps, and look! Not only was I able to get the look I originally wanted with those tiles (Which I actually got on the Forest of Illusion submap when they were used in a seperate area....), but as a bonus, I made the glaciers look a bit better by making them lighter. This allowed me to scrap the darkest color they used so I could place a dark red there. Thus... Peppermint.

Seems the game is using some weird texture format for translucent textures, so they only show up as yellow garbage when decompressed... anyway this is the first texture replacement I know of, excluding those plugins that load from bitmaps, that's cheating. I'd have used a nicer picture, but the textures are a mere 32x32!

Yeah, and I think I've figured out what those translucent textures are doing. I have to rewrite a lot of my crappy code to support it though.

Thats really neat that you changed the GFX of Mario Kart 64 but are you actually going to use that as cave GFX in a hack or was this just to show that you modified the GFX?

That was a test to make sure my texture replacement method worked. I suppose that could have some place in a drug-trip hack, but that won't be any time soon.

Awesomness, the only thing that could make it better is if the picture you'd used was a fish.

One more pick from beta brinstar. The elivator room to green brinstar. (This time IT IS green) (On small note I maybe add the green brinstar GFX for red brinstar only doing some pallet work.....We see.)

The first elivator room that is a morph ball puzzle ;P but only a easy one, It is the beginning of the game.

Oh and if you wonder about the pallet it is going to be some form of green. But I have yet to get a good looking.

Just as long as you do something differeint with the stairs, this will be perfect setz. I dunno why, I just kinf the big overlapping block look akward, and not very stair-like. I love that tree trunk though.
