Posted by FirePhoenix0Posted by FirePhoenix0 Well, in all honesty there's only so much you can say about a map screenshot. Apart from that it does look like it goes high. That being said, I hope you're going to make the difficulty comfortable rather than tedious. |

I assume you can have areas you can walk into, but never show on the map? You could hide an area away for later exploration in some crags near the top, and give the player hints else where. |

Yeah, there are going to be plenty of areas that don't show up when you download a map from a map station. In fact, there are at least 5 areas just on that screenshot right now that aren't visible until you find them.
Thanks for the comments. ____________________ |

Recent screenshots on my Megaman 1 hack.
If you guys picked up an IPS Patch copy called Megagirl from Zophar's Domain, then the stage select should look like this. It was made in 1998 which is the graphics only hack. Megaman 1 editors don't exist until the year 2000. I think. The time Dragon Eye Studios started cracking Megaman 1 data. Now, here's the stage select for Megagirl another fight story. I was thinking about changing the BG colors to either Gray, Red, or Green but not the default blue. If you guys played the Parody Touhou Megaman game called MegaMari, Patchouli and Cirno are the bosses in this game. YES I know I spelled Patcholy but that's another way to pronounce it. Gutsgirl is nothing more than the heart on it's head than the cutie face like all the others. My hack can NEVER be a graphics only hack. I will edit all level maps soon. Anyway, there's a few more GFX sprites I need to work on before I get to the frame animations. In a meanwhile I'm hosting 2 joke shots here below. In the year 21XX, Megaman X Teams with Marisa to stop Patchouli's evil plans. Iceman and Cirno also traveled to the year 21XX. Cirno is currently helping Chill Penguin. Iceman and Cirno ended up fighting each other in the Icy mountains. |

Posted by Insectduel Not true. Prior to then, Kent Hansen's MegaEdit was around, albeit difficult to find and incredibly limited. It can edit most (but not all) screens in the game, and that's it; no sprites, scrolling, stats, etc. visine and Rock & Roll made the game far more hackable, though. |

Well, thanks for the feedback Netsplit. I was thinking about writing a timeline on how it got started in my .txt document soon. I don't know nothing about the past history though. |

This is just a short video showing off some of the assembly hacks I'd mentioned earlier. (And probably one or two you might not have seen). There's 4 hacks shown off here, see if you can spot them all. |

I'm taking a break from the levels for now, and doing more work on the game's features. Somebody asked me if there will be ASM hacks. The answer is yes. Before I do anymore level editing, I'm going to start implementing a lot of ASM features. Two of my priorities right now are completely redesigning Mario. Inspired by Resident Evil 5's Chris Redfield, Mario is now more slim, and has bigger muscles, and loses the hat. I'm removing the hat on all the sprites. No more hat!
One of the things I really want to do is implement new moves for Mario. One of them I have been meaning to do, is the Multi-Directional Fireball Throwing. That might be a little too difficult to do, even though I have the pseudo-code down and everything. I want to do something a little more simple. I want to add a Punch ability. You press Up + the run button to do a punch. The punch ability would be great, because you won't need a powerup to launch an attack. And small Mario won't be able to punch. LDA $17 AND #$48 (Up + Run button) Swap Free bank in Swap new sprite bank with Mario punch Collission detection stuff - If Mario touches something blah blah blah Return to former bank. I won't make any promises, but I'm going to at least try to implement it. Wish me luck! EDIT - I put those fire canisters in btw. I'm holding back from showing more levels. You will see more levels and graphics overhauls in the next trailer. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I haven't played an Advance Wars in a little while, especially AW2, but at least I noticed that air units are deployable from an HQ--I don't think I remember that in Famicom Wars or Super Famicom Wars. Also Green Earth loading Blue Moon's palette(s?)

Haha. Too old huh? How about this one?
I want something new. But I don't want something that is going to look corny. I think this one resembles Chris Redfield a lot more. What do you think about this one? ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Probably a retard moment, but...make Mario black? I've never seen an African American Mario in a hack before; that sounds new. Seems to go with the "Dark Mario" theme? |

I like the idea of implementing the new features, and I hope it turns out well. ____________________ "There are 3 types of people in this world: Those who can count and those who can't." |

Posted by "Rockman" I could be out of the field on that one, but I have a feeling that bank swapping in the middle of nowhere would not be appropriate. Banks are usually swapped during non important blanks, like when you load a level or bring up the overworld... |

Started this last night. Used the data from the thread in the release forums to throw this together. It's dead simple, it'll be done soon enough. |

If Mario looks like crap, I can always change him back. No big deal. I'm experimenting to see what might work, and what won't.
Edea: I appreciate the idea, but I'm not going to take that route. pieguy1372: Thanks. Trax: Not necessarily. You can swap a bank anywhere, providing that you properly write the code. If you swap, you need to swap back perfectly, and to the right spot. When Mario shoots the fireballs, a different bank is swapped in temporarily, and then the original bank is loaded back in. It happens so fast that you won't even realize it happens without snapping the debugger to see it. smkdan: Nice editor there man. I never really got into Nuts & Milk, but I have seen a lot of hacks of it that look pretty cool, and its nice to see another editor in the works. Good luck with that. never-obsolete: There are a lot of Castlevania fans that are going to love that! ____________________ My YouTube Channel |
