Am I the only one expecting Mario to jump out of this at any second?

Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking.

Ditto. Reminds me a lot of a Yoshi's Island pipe.

=) Then you are all right!

(Yes I was aiming for a YI feel!)
I'm working on a kind side project. In the picture above I'm trying to do severs from NSMB 2-3.

A room = one level. Or something. Like in mario games there is (Secret exits)
That go to a bit harder rooms that in the end give a item. Then you have to go back and beat the level the normal way!
After getting some item you can explore secret worlds (If you find them)
That's the idea.

But do not expect any thing. I'm only working on this when I feel rely bored.

WHOAMG TABLE STRETCH
It's not as complete as it looks, currently the ball bounces around, a diferent angle depending on where it hits the paddle, bounces off the walls and ceilings, paddle is controlled by the mouse, and the brick layouts are loaded from a file. however I didn't do collision detection for the bricks, yet, so the ball floats right through them

Nice, setz. The colour scheme is a little monotonous though.

But, no table stretch here

Those are just the metal bricks, which eventually will be unbreakable. The level data is real simple, should be real easy to figure out if you open a hex editor. I plan on eventually making a level editor, though. after I get collision kinked out, add some music, maybe a splash screen, and a few other things.

I'm not sure if I'll do anything with this hack tho, I edited 5 levels so far. This game is pretty easy to hack.

Already posted this on the "other" Acmlm board (didn't know about this one then!), but here's an advance screenshot of my upcoming Nippon Pro Baseball 2007 Bases Loaded hack:

Nice screens Heian, are you planning to change the font? Mebbie you might wanna use the font from the game Base Wars.

Filler vids ftw?

I am really impressed with your hack so far. I haven't played it yet (if there is a release...nor do I have the time at the moment), but it looks great! I just hope it holds up to its hype from your YouTube vids (playing it is different than watching, but you know this of course...). Regardless, those levels look like they are originals and if they are then I'm very impressed by the fluidity, be it overall design and the added game mechanics. Cool Beans!

Googie, thanks for the encouragement! I'm making steady progress; all the player names are entered, all the graphic changes are done, and I've finished the position player stats for 6 of the 12 teams.

Any reason why you like the Base Wars font?

It's only 6 pixels high and doesn't impress me much. (Super Baseball 2020 has a nice-enough font, though.)

I wanted to make the regular numerals only one pixel high so that they wouldn't clash too much with the condensed two-digit numbers (I love those), and also so that the position stands out from the guy's name, which follows it with no space. I think my player lineups are a little easier to read than the original's.

This game should be a great introduction for anyone who's wanting to get into Japanese baseball!

I also agree on the Super Metroid pipe door. Too Marioish.

Heian: I like the Base Wars font better cause the font in your hack is so generic 80's, I played too many games with that font back in the days. But yeah Super Baseball 2020 doesn have a nice font. I should play that game again sometime soon.

I haven't touch any levels in Time Flies yet, but I changed somma the graphics...

Pic one's clouds are from Macbee's old SMB gfx hack, pic three's clouds are ripped from the game Armadillo, and some other graphics are from the Gameboy game Kirby's Block Ball.

Another SMW hack

This screen shot doesn't really have any action in it but I wanted to show it for some reason. This is a scrolling level like 1-4 of SMB3

A hilly level with multiple paths and lots of koopas.

The hacks first underwater level. The background isn't completely dark blue like it looks in the screen shot. It was just taken in a bad place.

I'm not good at taking pictures so if you find these boring it's most likely because I lack photography skills. I know thinks like the word "Mario" at the top of the screen is hard to see some times. I still plan on changing some of the main graphics so that they aren't so boring. And finally thank you to everyone who made the ExGFX I used in my hack (and a special thanks to Icegoom because I used some of his graphics [but not to many]).

I'm not a rom hacker but I have seen and played quite a few of them. I'm kind of a lenient judge, but anyway, I don't think your screenshots are boring though they would obviously still be nicer when spruced up, and I think your hack looks pretty good so far. My main problem with it though is that in the third screenshot the foreground pallet clashes with the rest of the level. Its just too bright. And maybe a different color that made it look more like it is underwater would work better, like a light blue or purple that matched well. Right now it looks more like a beach foreground than an underwater one. Anyway, keep up the good work, looking nice

In my opinion, the trees in the background would look nicer if you use a black outline instead of a white one.

I have to agree on that one. The white outline isn't terrible, but a black one is just more natural looking.

I like the black outlines much better than the white.

This is almost unnoticeable, but I think the tops of the trees look funny when they're completely outlined in black except where they attach to the trunk.

I think you should continue the black outline all the way around.
