Good. Mario didn't feel right in the first stranded demo anyway.

Wisdom Tree actually made a pretty good game. Christian-Zelda based in a city.

I'll just chop off that Christian and city part :o

After about 3 or 4 months, I finally finished 1-7 of my YI hack about half an hour ago. Time for some screenshots:

1-7: Spear Guy's Village

Plenty of Spear Guys will be patrolling around the village because of intruders. Half of the level takes place in their village. The other half takes place in...

...their sewer system. You pretty much spend most your time as Baby Mario while running up pipelines.

However, you are not completely invincible. You will still be eaten by these purple piranhas and you will lose all your eggs if that happens.

Near the end, you have to float to get the remaining coins and the last flower.

That's pretty much it. 1-8 will be a piece of cake compared to the sewer tileset.

I've never heard of this game until now. So I just downloaded it!
I'll be looking forward to see how well you "chop off that Christian and city part"!

The work everyone is doing these days is astounding. Loving the OpenPoke, Stranded and MON's items hack especially.

Some images of my Super Mario Land 3 remake in SMW.

New HUD & Baby Mario!

And heres the outdoor section of Course 01: Course 01

Dude, Spiritual War?

That was a pretty interesting game. It definitely has some weak points, but it was very good for the time. I'm interested to see how your version comes out.

Though I have to say that I quite liked it being set in a city. It's really rather rare for games of that type.

I agree. Just the whole setting made it cool for the genre, and I still don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it since.

Such diverse locations though means more diverse scenery. I'm thinking that city is going to be come either some huge castle or fortress: the city rooftop is just begging for one of the two.

Celice: Those screens are pretty sweet! I really like'em, I was playing this game earlier today and it got me playing for a couple of hours. Lemme ask you sumthin, are you planning to disable the questions in the game or are you gonna change'em?

I wanna see more...

I was planning on redoing them, but whether they were going to be about the zelda universe or about the game's story (like Banjo-Kazooie's final board game thing) I haven't decided.

I'm going to release a couple of shots next, so I'm holding off ;]

NEONswift, I love those graphics. The palettes are really warm and fuzzy and stuff.

I can't wait to try it out. Do you plan on changing the music?

Thanks Pac... I was playing around with the music patches available for SMW but not sure if any of it really fits. Most of the classic songs I prefer to SMW's ones though.

Id really like the Wario Land tunes in there but I know absolutely nothing about hacking music.

Wario Land tunes would be so different. Id' like that.

Do you head for 'cavelike' 'feeling big' and real adventures and puzzling levels?
I'm all for that.

btw. looks nice.

The far background is mockup only right now, but the rest is all in, and I'm in the process of putting the far background in as you look at this. (Yes, it's within the palette limitations of the Mega Drive.)

Here is something I started recently that may never be finished.
It's Shadow of the Ninja, and it's being converted to a Castlevania game.
Anybody who wants to check it out, and possibly continue it is welcome to.
