Megaman 4 is always one of my favorite games. I hope to keep this project going. Good work.

I would like to contribute for a little bit for your project if you want my help. I'm currently creating a conversion fast-scrolling Japanese patch from Rock5easily onto the USA version of Megaman 4. There only 64 different byte areas.

I'm going to test the fast-scrolling before giving the patch. But just in case something went wrong, you should back up your project.

thanks. i don't realy know what you mean with fast scrolling patch. so the game scrolls faster like in mm5 when jumping down or going up?(or end of scroll map left/right) iam not sure if i want that. however, there are other things i want that maybe you will help me with?

I've been working on graphics for a new SMB3 hack I'm making, and decided to show progress on how it's going.

The big issue right now is the one in the first screenshot. See how the blocks overlap? Next to the shadow, there's a border of 8x8 tiles of nothing. SMB3 Workshop shows the graphics there... I'm pretty sure it has to do with TSA, but I don't have any idea of how to fix it.

I'm guessing you simply forgot to edit a tile, or you overlooked a tile. Double check to make sure you got all of them. Open up the Name Table Viewer in FCEUXD and check the tile number to be sure. If not, I'll look into it for you. Nice graphics by the way.

Well, the thing is, SMB3 workshop shows that the tiles are edited. Those white 8x8 tiles show my edited graphics whereas in-game graphics show like that. Maybe SMB3W is showing incorrectly?

Possibly, but don't worry about what SMB3W shows. What is actually shown in-game is more important, obviously. What I'm saying, is that if you still have those blank spots that are right next to the black shadows, then it means you most likely forgot to edit a tile. There should be another blank tile in the graphics bank there. You just have to copy and paste over it.

EDIT - Can you edit graphics through SMB3W itself? If so then that may be the problem. You're better off editing them through a graphics editor.

Yes, there is a graphics editor in SMB3 Workshop; however, like you recommended RetroRain, it's probably better to use either YY-CHR or Tile Layer Pro to edit the SMB3 graphics. I personally like to use both programs interchangeably, since I find some stuff is easier to edit in YY-CHR like the title screen while Tile Layer Pro allows me to use the Tile Arranger to make editing all of those scrambled graphics a lot easier.

I'm going to start Megaman Showdown 4. It is a boss-only hack. Yes, it will use ASM (Health bars, boss weak points, boss AI's, etc) so I have to rely on my FCEU XD Emulator to find data. It shouldn't act like the incompleted version of MMS5 by Matrixz with the 3 difficulties (Easy, Normal, and Expert).

I'm going to make my version like Vagla's MMS1 like any other and it is NOT a team project. I should do all the work unlike the second series which I'm going to modify later until 9/21/09.

DES never produce MMS4 so I'm the person to do it since MM4 is my favourite game.

Yeah KP, that's what I'm talking about! ^_~

Insey: Not bad, I'm figuring that to make a Showdown hack won't take alotta time at all if you make a level a day. ^^;

I like what I see, KP9000. It's well designed, not too complicated, yet different enough to be interesting...
Keep up the good work...

I haven't started to make the levels unless I find the beginning checkpoints first. Since there's no checkpoints for beginning levels in Mega FLE X, I have to rely on FCEU XD OR just create the room myself in the beginning and set the boss on Page 1.

So far, all I did last night is to find statistics on MM4 using FCEU XD and already found the first 5 databases.

x72F08 - Lives to start (After the Game Over Screen)
x77C09 - Max number of lives
x77C19 - Max number of E-Tanks (04 Recommended)
x7C54A - Lives to start
x7C698 - Health modifier (Recommended 8E for a Challenge)

I need to find more data including the boss weak points which is way too easy to find.

KP9000, I like the progress so far on your SMB3 hack. There needs to be more SMB3 hacks around, and less SMW hacks.

Having more SMAS-SMB3 hacks is more better. Unless people can hack the game on their own and not just me.
