Posted by AilurePosted by GuyPerfectExpect in Sweden you can get away with self-defence. I'm not sure why you would compare with UK now.Posted by AilureI'm reminded of my grandparents' friends, who live in the UK. They told a story of a man who, while defending his own home from an intruder, accidentally injured the would-be robber. So, due to his violent act, he was imprisoned. He had high marks for good behavior, but they would not release him because he was "an endangerment to criminals." Funny, how a person bragging about human rights promotes violence. |

Here in Belgium we have that rule too, you cannot just beat the shit out of a burglar. You may only endanger him as much as he is endangering you.
e.g. He's carrying a knife, than you may carry a knife and wound him in a non-lethal way If you'd have a gun you may only shoot his limbs to ensure he won't get away. But if the burglar can prove that he was weaponless and you shoot him then you're going to jail. |

Posted by YoruMaking a statement about law promotes violence? Edit: Also if the statement Kasumi-Astra makes is true, then what he did is illegal. Having firearms without license is illegal in most European countries. (You can obtain license for things like, hunting) ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by Randy53215 To say he "just supported it" is horribly wrong. He has the power of the military, he can choose whether or not to go to war. He signed that paper that the congress voted on. He could've stopped it at any time. Also if I'm not mistaken, he was the guy that proposed going to war. Though please correct me if I'm wrong. |

The President isn't supposed to be able to declare war, only Congress can do that. But the U.S. government is really screwed up right now. |

Declaring war and sending troops are totally different. Remember that.
When the legislative branch declares war, that means the military has full economic backing. (And many other details.) |

Posted by Randy53215Posted by Xeogred They voted for war based on cherry-picked (and false) intelligence from the Bush Administration. They're to blame, if Bush hadn't been elected in 2000 we wouldn't be in Iraq. ____________________ "I'd like to confuse bok choy with cabbage." |
