wtf admin abuse
Seriously, two problems I see here. One, he gets added to the no-fly list for dissing Bush. Two, they still let him on the plane! |

Why does that sound like ||board? I remember getting added to some watch list as well but mine was for a different purpose. *whistles innocently* ____________________ What FF7: Advent Children Character Are You? |

Nobody gets banned from flying for criticizing Bush. Do you know how many people criticize Bush? The airline industry would go under. And they certainly don't ban them from flying for participating in a peace march. The clerk at the airport was just being an idiot. Obviously, if he actually was on a terrorist watchlist (which I'm sure he wasn't), they wouldn't have let him on the plane.

Well, even then the amount of false positives terrorists have made me doubt about America as a democratic country.
It's funny how a country bragging about 'freedom' also manages to break UN's human rights. However, it might just been a case where they found a similar name on the list, mistaking him for a "suspected terrorist", and the clerks were being incompetence over it. Or at least, I really hope that... ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by Xeogred Fixed. I love how everyone blames the President.... reminds me of war.... how you know.... congress voted to go to war and not the president, he just supported it. |

Posted by Randy53215Yeah, the presidential system we have pretty much assures that the head of state gets too much credit when things go well and too much blame when things go awry. It is what it is, ignorant people continue to disregard the legislative branch of this country (which is, by design, THE most powerful branch of government.) If anything, blame the entire U.S. Republican party which controlled the majority in Congress and Presidential seat, as it's closer to the truth than blaming one person for what gets done in the country.Posted by Xeogred ____________________ |

But, I still think Bush is a terrible President himself. Mainly, its the entire US that gives me a 'head in hands' moment right now. |

Posted by AilureI'm reminded of my grandparents' friends, who live in the UK. They told a story of a man who, while defending his own home from an intruder, accidentally injured the would-be robber. So, due to his violent act, he was imprisoned. He had high marks for good behavior, but they would not release him because he was "an endangerment to criminals." If I had the man's name, I'd let you know. This I did not make up. |

Another case of blaming the figurehead of their society. Parliament makes most of the rules, the Queen is there just for show. ____________________ What FF7: Advent Children Character Are You? |

The post count is currently around 25730
Just mouse over the 'link' or 'quote' links, the post # is shown in the url ::edit:: Oh, unless you meant the 10,000th post in the General Chat forum. In which case, I have no idea. Check and count down from the post numbers, I guess. I'm not going to bother figuring it out. |

Posted by GuyPerfectExpect in Sweden you can get away with self-defence. I'm not sure why you would compare with UK now.Posted by AilureI'm reminded of my grandparents' friends, who live in the UK. And you're talking about a country which have a high density of cameras (UK, that is). ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

You can argue self-defense in the UK, but there is a reasonable force element involved. Firearms are not an acceptable form of self defense in UK law, even if you have a lisence. |
