Is there any documents on River City Ransom floating around? I looked here but there is not really a lot of data on this game. Pacnsacdave helped me put the clothes from the Japanese version on the characters. I added the Lolo3 font, I always found the original font ugly.
If anyone is willing to help me out, here's what's done so far. I can only change the palettes in the screen where you select your character, any other place in the ROM I can find and I'm using the NES Palette editor. I just want to change the clothes palettes... ____________________ My Linktree |

Just be careful because, from what I could tell, those palettes also affect other sprites, like the beige bat and trash can. |

Thanks QC, are those palette offsets also available for the enemies' clothes too? ____________________ My Linktree |

Thanks again QC, I really appreciate it. I'll work on it in a bit...
I was looking at The Cutting Room Floor earlier and saw that the last boss was gonna have telekinesis, would've been cool to add that in the original RCR. I'm sure it could be done, prolly be hard though... ____________________ My Linktree |

You're welcome. It was enjoyable going through this game again. It was a long time since I played through it.
I also happened to look at that page and other resources online covering the game, and only just recently discovered after owning this game since my childhood years that the one weapon isn't a pink or beige version of a bat or pipe, but rather, a stick. Spoiler:
This is Grimm all over again. The telekinetic attack would have put an interesting spin on the game, for sure. It would have helped add something more to the final boss fight. |

Well the palettes are in, Danger X helped out with putting the palettes together. They're all in white clothes because that's the way it looks the best. It looks like the American version of this ROM is weird compared to the Japanese version. I'll make a story around it somehow. I wanna make the story into a comedy, if you wanna try it out QC lemme know. ____________________ My Linktree |

That looks pretty nice. So since they're in white clothes, does that mean that that's the way that each gang appears, and the only way to tell them apart is by reading the text when you enter a new area to know which gang it is?
What makes the American version weird? The text? Just curious. I'd try it out for you, for sure. Thank you for the offer. |
