So after playing and watching some offsets of Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy, I made a rather fascinating discovery. Take a look at the character select screen here:
(Pardon the glitches, the emulator is incomplete.) However, when in comparison to its hexadecimal equivalent, there's a notable string. Starting from 0x7D694, there's a list of character names, all in the same order; Mario, Luigi, Princess, Yoshi, Toad, Koopa and DK. There's an extra name at the right, Cassarin, which apparently translates to Birdo. (Thanks, Chup) What might this mean? I've read some FAQs and I see no mention of this "Cassarin", or Birdo for that matter at all. ____________________ |

They probably put Birdo in the game at first, then later took her out without removing her name. Simple. ____________________ |

Could be.
I'd check if there's graphics left of her but all I can find is small 8x8 chunks. Virtual Boy graphics format is very fucked up. ____________________ |

Posted by BooUrnsPosted by Raccoon SamFixed. There were some good games for Virtual Boy such as VB Wario Land. Jack Bros. wasn't bad either. I still have fun playing it. |

Posted by HigsbyPosted by BooUrnsPosted by Raccoon SamFixed. He probably meant that the system itself was obscure, rather than the games. And yeah, Mario Clash and Virtual Boy Wario Land are good timewasters. I've cleared VBWL, and just recently cleared level 99 of Mario Clash. ____________________ |

I'm waiting for a VB emulator that supports sound. (And isn't Mac only )
That and I have 3d glasses, so I can play it in 3d. I never had a real VB though. ____________________ |

Unless he made a sudden update to the source within the past few months, then nope. ____________________ |

I can only find version 82.2, which isn't on his site, but it's on one of those other VB sites, and I can't even get that version to run at all. 82.1 didn't have sound, and 82.2's changelog doesn't say anything about sound being added or anything. ____________________ |

Posted by Drag Oh. My bad, sorry. But nonetheless, sound isn't anything you should have VB for. I mean, the musics in just about all VB games suck horribly. ____________________ |

Posted by Raccoon Sam Yeah, I know, but there's still some music I remember hearing that I'd like to hear again. That and the lack of sound effects is a little weird. That's just me though, sound makes a difference for me. ____________________ |
