Man, I remember the lost threads. Good times.
Oh wait, they're still here? Good times. For people that don't know me: I'm some random guy that posted every once in a while back at acmlm.overclocked.org. How long ago was that anyway? Edit: Interesting, I just checked and it turns out I can login to all three archives. So I guess I am pretty old. Crazy how time works. |

I didn't post much when I was new, then I got really depressed and posted a lot more.
The first incarnation and this board are the best Acmlm's incarnations. I had a lot of trouble with certain people on the second board, making for an altogether unpleasant experience when I couldn't make a post without being flamed for a while. I wasn't on the third board at all. |

Welcome back, Link. Can't say I know you since you weren't that active.
I started out active when I first joined here although I wasn't planning to be active to begin with. I joined just for asking a simple question and was expecting to stay on the board for nearly 2 years. As for third incarnation, I was sort of active by making 5 posts per day. That changed when summer began and I became quite active until school started. |

So, can someone fill me in on what happened between the third one and this one? I'm kinda in the dark about it, all I know is there was a split, and this is the good board. (and like Kernal, I think this one and the first one are the best.) |

||board is run by ||bass and is basically a craziness domain (instead of it being just a forum, the whole damn ||board is a craziness domain except MAYBE the rom hacking forums). This board is more cool. ____________________ |

That part I understand, the whole ||bass controlling a forum that is bad, as I have been there and it was awful.
But how did he get his own board, and why is it on acmlm.org? |

Posted by Link I'm pretty sure ||board is on acmlm.org because ||bass owns the domain name. I'm not really sure why ||bass did some of the things that made ||board so bad (such as unban certain people that shouldn't of been unbanned). EDIT: Darn NightKev beat me. |

Yeah, I don't understand what's going on there. The following equation seems to apply:
Previously banned at Acmlm's = staff at ||board Why ||bass, or anyone else, thinks that's a good way to run a board is beyond me. |

I know...how many times has Legion been banned? I remember he was permabanned as Pinion, then almost immediately re-registered as Legion, then was banned again eventually for most of 2003, then unbanned, then I think he was actually staff... |

Legion has had a history slightly similar in style and such to me. It's amusing.

I know, it reminds me of TMK in 2002 in that regard (one of the first boards I registered at). Except TMK was rule-less because there was only one admin and no mods, and the admin only visited about once a month. Once some members found out how to hack the unusual board software, the place turned into anarchy. |
