I don't know about you guys, but I don't think the overworld is so hot. It's not an ugly mess by any means, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. The perspective seems all over the place and the land masses really need to be raised off of the ocean surface. Many of the walls and cliffs look... unnatural. There could probably be more order with the decorations rather than them being all over the place at random. More varied themes would probably help as well; other than the desert and half of the submaps, a lot of your worlds seem to simply be grasslands.

Don't mean to sound so negative, just trying to help you improve. Don't take it the wrong way.

About the overworld, there's three Luigi's Quest hacks. Luigi arrives on the eastern area of the island, which is near a lot of water. The mid-section (Hack 2) is more mountainous and away from the ocean surface, and the western side (Hack 3) is still still being decided.

And they're not all grasslands. I have the world names/world types to prove it.

Koopa Lagoon (Water)
Frosty Coast (Ice)
Sumera Lake (1 Water Level, 1 Island Level; Part of Tropical Fields)

DryBones Desert (Desert, Duh)
Bowser's Realm (Dark, Gloomy, Ghostly Areas)
Star Gate (Mix Of Levels)

During the Video the message box says "A - Nothing". Shouldn't "A" be pick up spin jump?

Fix'd.

Shouldn't X and Y be run/pick up? Or am I missing something here?

After skimming the video quickly I thought that he was using the keyboard letters (which would make more sense wouldn't it?).

I changed the message to something else.

Why? Because it's played in an emulator. You know what buttons that you set up.

You wasted too much time sitting there looking at the messages (there's a PAUSE button for a reason).

Do not like how everything is so square. The edges, on blocks and ground. Too pointy. Otherwise, like your level design...

It's not hip to be square. I mean really, if video games existed during Euclid's time, this would have been his art style. It's kinda cool in a way, but it's...unnatural, y'know? Aipom's right, consider smoothing the edges.

And I like the text...it's crisp, legible, and it just looks, well, good.

Level design reminds me of SMB3: a bit simple, sparse, but reasonably fun. I hope the game will have some (reasonable) challenge later on. And I'd like to see some ExGFX or at least custom palettes.

Not too bad so far.
