Ok, so I was looking through the archives of this place (apparently it was wiped like three times) and found multiple archives of acmlm, mainly I2 and I3. However, I can't find the equivalent of "I1" of this place, or the first incarnation. :/ I've looked all over, and even found some links that claimed to be what I was looking for, but they all just don't work. Does anybody know where I can find them?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also, speaking of archives, there was something else I asked about on SMWC so I thought it was worth a shot asking here since they couldn't answer it =P Does anyone have any backups of the old SMWCentral before the wipe? Kieran got rid of the old.smwcentral.net archive and now regrets it, but I haven't given up hope yet! Thanks again. =)

I sifted around a bit, and it appears the only copy of the I1 backup was stored by Acmlm himself on his server. It doesn't appear anyone else had a backup, so at the moment your best bet if you're looking for a specific piece of information is using archive.org.

Ok, I'll try that. Do you know the original URL of it? Was it the same as here (acmlm.kafuka.org)? or something else, like board.acmlm.org (I heard that was something else)?

EDIT: Tried it, no dice. Is Acmlm still around? Maybe he has a copy of it somewhere?

Old Acmlm I1 site is server down.

Acmlm I1 URL acmlm(dot)overclocked(dot)org Use Archive.org
back in 2000 not 1999 (no saved web archive page in 1999). new website Acmlm launched on 1999 (15 years later).

I2 since 2004-2005 and I3 since 2005-2007.
Old Acmlm Board 2 I4 is inactive until early 2017 and new Acmlm 5th generation coming soon in 2017.

Um, why is there going to be another site in 2017? Why would we need that?

Also, is Acmlm still around? Maybe we could ask him about the archive, and if he still has it.. .

He is but don't expect him to talk at all your best bet is to ask emuz directly.

Ok, sent him a PM, thanks.

Also why does that board exist, anyway? It's already confusing to me enough that there's this (board 2) and Jul, but why is there also THAT acmlm version thing.

Every time a disagreement with the staffing style and direction of a board arises (involving a sufficient portion of the board's community) that is too profound to be reconciled, a split happens. Kafuka has some of the very first Acmlm board members on it, and a more cohesive community. board2 is more of a passable resource for novel hacking information on some classic games now.

I don't think I have or ever had a copy of the I1 archive, though I found something that looks like its source.

Now I see why you wanted those archives then, speak to bh privately and see if he will let you reference from somethings.
I suggest you show him what you've been doing overtime.

PSA: Archives are not back yet due to the server move. I'll look into this in due time.

It's funny I can only access the board from phone. All of my browsers think 'They're error'.

You have to flush your DNS cache. It might still be thinking that acmlm.kafuka.org points at the old server.

Ah, so that was the issue. I was worried.

Back on topic: Acmlm I1 aside, does anyone at least know about the three old boards that existed before Acmlm used ones he coded himself? Before what we all know as the "first incarnation" began, there were two forums run by EZBoards and later one run on WWWThreads. Are there at least any archives of that?
