This thread is dedicated towards music porting for snes, nes and genesis.
SPC2MIDI was released back 2003 and again by a amercain author for translation.
It converts spcs to midi very well, only issue with it is upon exportation of the midi..
All of the tracks are combined on one channel and some uther error that has been boggling me for the past years now.

I made this tutorial here so you can see and make workable midis with the program.
Nsf2midi has the same problem but with drum errors and what not going out of sync when porting,

I'll make another tutorial for nsf2midi late this year but I hope any rom hacker or music novice finds this usefull.
Keep in mind no one has been able to figure out why this program errors out the way it does until now.

Mike.

I had same problem while exporting midi sometimes ago by using SPC2MIDI. Actually it's fine while I opened it in some MIDI editors but not in Fruity Loop.

It was combined into one channel that made me confused.

I hope after seeing this tut, I will be able to importing the MIDI files into FL.

Thanks a bunch for your time to make this tutorial... I really appreciated it...

Not a problem man, most people were well aware of it, I dont think the original author of this program may have knew how to fix it if any.
It was mostly trial and error and running many programs through the midis I made.
None of them couldnt handle it, in late 2009 I looked at the midi with music studio.
I was glad it "could" open sure enough it fixed it alright.
But not perfect, even though I am rookie at midi making I'm glad I looked at vgmusic.com guides and some other things.
trial and error and sure enough I may have fixed it in january.
Enjpy I hope that many others will finally put this program to good use now.

Alrighty then the spc2midi export and conversion problem has been fixed.
What fixed the issues ? thank anvil studios for this.
You may go here for more info:
http://www.vgmusic.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12043&p=250803#p250803

Until the admins fully review this with me and test for now you can rip the spc and use in your own rom hack or etc projects.

Problems are finally fixed please view the vidoe or skip through the video to see how to fix your conversions.
NSF2midi had the same problem as well but anvil fixes them and more.

I'll look into this once my computer gets out of the shop. I've been wanting to make a few chiptunes for a while now and I hope this'll help.
Then again, maybe this won't...

In many ways it does, thats why I wanted to get the problem fixed.
Took me 3 years to figure out the problem and find a remedy for it.
Those that hack music for the nes or any game console this will be perfect.

I hope you and many other people will put it to good use.
I wanted to change image on spc2midi but visual basic 2010 screwed up the code rendering it unusable.
I may need to seek a programmer to tinker it a tad bit.

I'm a programmer, uh, in training. I have some experience with Visual Basic and C++ and I'm currently learning C#.
ADDON:The reason why I said "maybe not" was because I'm not sure if this program will work well with MP3s, M4As, or other standard music files. I have plenty of those.

Yeah, recorded music is pretty much useless for music hacking unless you plan to cover it by ear.

It's not very hard to get spcs and whatnot though.

What on earth are you talking about ? o0
I don't mean tweak it the way your thinking, it already does what I need it to do 90% of the time.
Open up spc2midi english, you see that image logo, I wanted to replace that.
I tried to do that and succeded but visual basic 2010 rendered useless upon saving.
I spoke to the guy who translated this tool from japanese to english.
Hes the only one who spoke to the original author of the program and had permission to translate it.
My only problem is I haven't been able to successfully locate him since december 2008.

If I could find him and ask him what version of visual basic would be able to work on it I could do it myself. :|

I appreciate your offer but I may seek out someone else on another forum for the task.

Yeah, I might need help with that, unless SPCs are SNES-produced soundtracks.

That is indeed what an SPC is.
You can only use this program to get midis of songs from SNES games, didn't realize what you meant.

Use ZSNES v1.51 or snes9x v1.52, with zsnes you need to know when a track is about to load up and play and dump it.
Zsnes dumps what is currently being played so be cautious of what your doing.
Use super jukebox to play spc and dump them to .wav.

Quite easy to turn a spc to mp3 full track or ringtone if you know what your doing.
