Posted by Javier Windows 7 will revert back IE 7 be default. Windows xp will revert to IE6 or IE 5.5 if any updates are not made by windows update. |

It's not really possible to remove IE because it's integrated with various parts of the OS. Your best bet is to just keep up with the latest IE security updates and not use it for normal web browsing. ____________________ |

Posted by NightKev Posted by Javier He meant if he installed a newer version of ie and uninstalled would it revert back to the old verion ? Most cases yes, not unless the os install disc came preinstalled with it, then yeah he can't remove it as windows relies on it for other system usage. Speaking of which, javier which windows os do you have and current sp so we all can get a clear idea what you have ? |

Posted by Javier Ok I figured you would have something like that. For your xp machine I read this article http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/products/lifecycle Also read this so you can get a clear idea when support ends for each microsoft os. Since your using xp learn it first completely try out new things and mess with things on a pc that is not your main machine. Thats the best way to learn and ask questions that are reasonable and sensible to tecnnical savvy, technicians such as "me" or any other lead IT support forums. |
