Those of you looking for the old acmlm archives it can't be found here.
Please note the forums are non working and in suspended state when it was closed. Any links inside of it may work sometimes or not at all.
This is only meant to be informative for rom hacking information or resources.

/archive1/ is not valid. Acmlm had the I1 archive on his computer for a while, I don't know if he's since moved it somewhere else.

This thread should be pinned, there's a lot of info & documentation (and nostalgia) that could be useful for those who are just starting off in rom hacking

Thanks kevin, I'll do some digging around this week and see if I can't find a valid link for it.

@Locolol: I'll ask one of the administrators later on if thats ok to do or not.

Sometimes it works, other times its a no-go. :/

The Acmlm Archives are not working, I really needed them to get some SMB3 info to fix up my SMB3 hack. Damn...

When will they be back up?

.......? what do you mean its broke again ? "don't trip over that brown server cord"
I'll look into it again if I find it I'll speak to emuz and blackhole and see if they will let me archive it to my own mediafire service for offline downloading/viewing.

See what you can do, Mikey. If you can put it for download that'd be cool, & I'll save 'em with my ROM Hacking stuff also.

Archive 2 is now back alive, although there were a bunch of forum records that seem to not have made it into the database dump, which I only reindexed very haphazardly: click me

I'm still working on Archive 3, as there are some incongruities with changes in PHP getting in the way.

edit: Done. Let me know if anything breaks.

Thanks Blackie, I know you're very a very busy guy to take the time out to do this. I'm glad that they're up.

I was looking for the SMB3 ROM Hacking thread, I remember it being stickied but sadly it's not up there. But I can look into the archives for other info on other projects I have in mind. So far everything works fine.

I was looking for offsets when Mario enters Toad's house instead of being still for a few seconds while Toad talks, Mario can walk while Toad talks. I'll keep looking through the pages after I eat.

Again thanks Blackie.

I found it, Googie. I remember that post was somewhere, but instead of looking for the old post, I found the offset from searching in the source, in FCEUXD.

0x5234 - FF
Mushroom House timer - this value is written to $0556 in RAM, and once it reaches 00, Mario/Luigi can walk.
If you change 0x5234 in the ROM from FF to 00, Mario/Luigi can walk right away.

I realize that this isn't necessarily the topic for this, but since you mentioned it here, it seemed fitting to submit the solution close to the source for anyone else who can potentially make use of it, too.

As for the archives, that's great that they're back again. I have memories of reading through those old threads back in my college years during my breaks, when I was learning more and more. Too bad I wasn't around for those times. I was late to the party.

I1 is hosted on a bad server (cjb.net doesn't provide the service for hosting anymore)

Does anyone have another copy of it NOT on cjb servers?

Theres no actual board though thats just the homepage stuff.
I do like the old design though, just looks really strange!? And makes me remind of the old days.

-can confirm the News page is readable.. but only up to August 2001, though. September 2001 and the other 3 further up are lost.

I'll see what else I can find, though.

edit: Alright, it looks like the board is lost. Acmlm probably has it somewhere on his computer, but the chance of him coming online is.. slim. Especially here on Board2.

anyway, how sad. I'll see if I can dig up more stuff from Jul and possibly I2 and I3 archives.
