I want to know your inspiration for coming up with that. I thought it had a ridge of skin on the top of its head at first, but then... I saw it was a tentacle.

As for dithering, you can try it (and show us) if you do, but it doesn't look bad at all to start with...

The main inspiration was from a song from the Beatles, called "Octopus' Garden". Great song, you might want to hear it as well.
And thanks for the comment, although I forgot to mention that this is a Work in Progress.

Where should it be, then?
Lower, upper, where?

Their mouths are inbetween all their legs/arms/tentacles on the underside, actually.

lol blank cell
Personally I like the one on the left the best. The colors on the right look smoother, but I like the darker shade more.

I like the right one. Mainly because it's colors are smooth and that they're brighter.
Plus, I like to see the little pixels that are a different shade of a color.

I somehow don't think he was going for realism.

Also, instead of just a plain mouth in that location, they have a beak. I don't know if many people know that.

To be honest, I'm not sure which one I like better. The left one does look a bit more amature than the one on the right.
