My old one is terribly outdated. Can anyone recommend me a good one that will last for awhile? I personally want to run newer games smoothly. I'm currently on Windows 7 if that helps. Not sure if I need anymore specs. ____________________ -Ninjablooper |

Posted by MikeFuryXPIs this supposed to be english? ninjablooper, you need to tell us what motherboard you have, as well as what power supply. GPUs use lots of power, so if your current PSU is inadequate, bad things could happen. ____________________ |

You don't. You have to look on the PSU directly to see what its specs are. The motherboard model might be listed somewhere though, idk. ____________________ |

So by Power Supply Unit what exactly do you mean? As in where I'm getting my energy from or my fan's power or what? Sorry, I'm not exactly very well informed of hardware. ____________________ -Ninjablooper |

Posted by ninjablooper Excuse kevin while he gets his answer right. Download HW monitor http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html Also open up your case from the right side and see what motherboard model you got. You don't want to get any type of GPU that nay bottle neck your cpu. Minimum wattage for normal pci-e 2.0 gpus is 350wattage with limited system hardware setup. Recommended for most video cards would be 425-600 watts, not unless you plan on going for a GTX series or ATI HD higher up 5000-6000 series. |

Posted by NightKevPosted by MikeFuryXPIs this supposed to be english? CPU and RAM might also be a concern for bottlenecking. ____________________ Robocop and 이명박 voted for me. |

About this topic. I have dolphin and I need to know the same thing, NB. So if someone knows let the both of us know rather than just him alone.
I really can't live with lag. |

Posted by YamIOkay, look, it doesn't work like that. You should make your own thread, and tell us exactly what hardware you currently have. If we don't know, we can't tell you what's compatible or whether you need to buy anything else. We would also need to know how much you can spend. You can't just ask "hey what's a good X?" and expect a magical answer. ____________________ |

But I don't feel like spamming the place up with threads about the same topic so why not post it in here? Also I'm getting it upgraded to Windows 7 as soon as I find that disc I lost somewhere, unless I lent it to someone... |

If I see it I will help you, but be warned, not enough info on your system and price range requirements and lack of communication, means no help for you. Got it ? |

Well not sure if this info is useful, but I have for a processor "AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 550 processor 3.10 GHz", for RAM 4 GB, and a 64-bit operating system. I'll try to find out my motherboard later. ____________________ -Ninjablooper |

Posted by LunariaPosted by YamII don't think that is going to be an issue any time soon considering we are fairly inactive for a board. Okay then. If I must. |

Okay long story, but I can get all the information I need now. I'm just curious though what specs should my card have if I'm doing modern gaming? ____________________ -Ninjablooper |

Posted by ninjablooper Hmm, if you have a phenom ii x2 555 thats a good starter for gaming. If you have a pci-e slot, any recent ati or nvidia one will do. Find a card and look at the spec requirements, if its asking for more power than you currently have I recommend you upgrade soon. A phenom ii x4 955, 965 will do you good, atleast your machine will have breathing for a game a and a few open apps and documents. Can I ask what you do besides gaming with your machine ? I'm just trying to get a glimpse of what you do and I could suggest somethings for you to look at. |
