Other than specs which you can post, what kind of computer would you just love to have? Would it be more for gaming/LPing, for work, or just whatever? Any particular things/features you want to get out of that computer that all other computers fail to meet? Post it here and let's get some interesting answers.

I'll post mine after a bit.

All of the above.

My dream computer would have infinite everything. Including every operating system ever created.

And I'd use it to do everything ever.

This is coming from someone who's currently using a 566MHz Intel Celeron processor with 128MB of RAM running Windows 98 because I don't have anything better that will work right now (my hard drive failed in my desktop computer).

While my computer is okay (much better than the one two or so years ago), I'd still like to get a proper gaming/LP sort of computer that can handle big recording sessions and won't lag the freak out when I tend to do too many things at once. My problem is I have more than 20 tabs everywhere. Yeah, browsers hate me for that reason.

Regardless, I have Windows 7 now but I've been hearing certain things of 8 that make me double take a bit. My ideal operating system would be Window's type of interface (perhaps even better) and with some of the benefits of the other operating systems that boost about no viruses or and problems. Of course, I never have had any blue screen or viruses ever. Naturally because I am very careful with what I click usually. And usually when someone says X is indestructible, someone will make a better idiot to break it. I have a shirt with that similar phrase.

So I guess when I do get my new computer in a month or so, I am aiming to make sure it has lots of RAM because the amount of RAM I have currently is just always topping while recording, forcing my recorded FPS to just die even with optimal settings. This computer has half a terabyte and I never really ran out space so that is just fine. I'd definitely like a top line graphics card to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. It may easily be one of the most expensive things you get upgrade but I consider it a bit important for my recordings.

Hrm... Ideally, I'd have a version of FreeBSD that supports USB keyboards a bit better, and a top-of-the-line graphics card with OpenGL support (Like that'll ever happen). It would be primarily a work station, with two hex-core Intel Xeon processors, probably about 24GB of RAM, and four 1TB SSD drives in a RAID array (I forget which RAID type I want, but it's the one where information is decentralized across all four drives, so really it would work as just a single 1TB drive with crazy-fast write speed). Maybe two such arrays, actually. One for / and one for /usr. Also it would be nice if BlackMagic would support FreeBSD...

But I know none of this will ever happen, so I'll just go ahead and say head over to the Apple Store and max out the Mac Pro. That's what I want.

A Turing machine.

A real one, that is, infinite tape and all that.
