How about a pony forum on this message board?

No? Massive hating? Yeah I was kinda expecting that.

We all know this place is lacking activity, and I'm the first one to say that I will not accept trolling and flame waring as activity. Which got me thinking, what ways are there to get more users here? I saw what others said in the other thread, but not a whole lot of concreat things came up.

So I came up with this idea, what if we open a pony forum on the board and market ourselves as a tech geek community on brony news sites and places? It's very valid, would bring activity, and we would get in some new people that may actually get into ROMhacking given time.

Of course, this is a rather big change, so I thought I would gather user opinion on the case, There are two yes options and two no options which I will just add up later, and an I don't give two fuck option, see if you can figure out which is which. :/

Also, if you're strongly against this, feel free to suggest other things to bring in activity as well!

Personally, I'm indifferent. I have no qualms against a pony forum, but I just don't see it helping activity that much. Let's be honest: just as there are pony lovers, there are pony haters. In an attempt to bring pony fans here, you may scare away newcomers who hate ponies, especially if it ends up being one of the more active forums here.
But if you really think it'll help activity, go for it. Maybe you're on to something by advertising us as a pro-brony tech geek community.

I really think that by doing that, we would be setting ourselves up for a lifelong supply of trolling and drama while the reality of getting a lot of new users over it would be dubious at best...

@nicole no it wouldn't think like a super mod here for a minute.
If new or current members want the pony sub-forum so be it.

But if they want in let them request it from one of the admin for approval.
Also put a small note on the index page there is a pony page or request link somewhere.

You would cut out half of your problems right there, let lunaria mod that sub-forum so he has full say so of who can stay or go.

Any members that did not ask for pony sub-forum will not be allowed inside or viewable.

I didnt know that, sometimes its hard me to guess when both male and female use the pink color on their names sometimes without saying their gender in the profile. :\

You bring up some good points.

I personally like to think that if you don't like something, just ignore it. Having it's own forum would put all that content there, making it easier for those that dislike it to avoid it. Also, this is assuming we do have newcomers from other places, which is not exactly something we do today.

Still, you do bring up some very valid points.

@blackhole89: Explain how this is any different from what we have now? :/
It's obvious we need to change in some way. Not saying this has to be it, of course. But we need to do something.

Dude I already know this. Crys over on Metconst. Cryshi, Green Kirby. I know all this. I was told it was female, but I guess was wrong.

and I know Icemetal cause I pplayed and beat it. it was a great hack and I can't wait for Awakening.

I'm feeling as much as you'd intend it to be somewhat isolated to avoid flaming and hate, it will generate just as much. In fact it's already generating hate, but should this sub-forum or whatever see the light of the day, I'll be glad to use it as a base of operations for my project and to get more active, cause honestly, I can't really talk about personal things over at the general chat board noone would care about. I need people to recognize me, and I hope this project will help me accomplish that goal.
