This hack is NOT mine, I take no credit for this. I haven't seen any other posts about this so I thought I'd share it with you for those who haven't heard about it before.

This is a full hack of the Nintendo 64 game, Super Mario 64. I've played it myself and it is pretty fun. I'd say it's harder than the original, but not so much that you'll get frustrated with it. It has all new levels, over 120 stars, some new enemies, etc. It is definitely one of the more polished SM64 hacks I've ever seen. Here is video of the trailer on Youtube:

A download link for the patch can be found in the video's description, as well as instructions.

I haven't played it myself, but I started sharing it the moment my youtube showed the dude's trailer (I was following him for a while). It is a pretty definite experience, 'cause everything is basically new. It does have a few weird moments where you're expected not so much to play a level, but to abuse game mechanics (just-long-enough sort of gimmicks), but overall it's a very interesting game. The levels and their individuality remind me of Mario Galaxy's colorful levels

It's harder than the original, a bit uneven at places (couldn't expect anything else from such a massive hack), but still really amazing. Celux is very talented and some levels can really capture the spirit of Mario 64.

This is worth the download just to see what happens when Mario runs out of lives .

I'm quite impressed that hacking of any full 3D game could have managed to take off to this degree. I always vaguely counted myself among the "it's too cumbersome for anything substantial to be done" camp as far as they were concerned so far...

I think the tight polygon limits, restricted playing area and number of levels makes Mario 64 an easier game to hack. Low-polygon modelling in Google SketchUp is very easy nowadays, and hacking tools are mature enough to provide everything needed to make a full hack.

There is also another 100+ stars full hack called Super Mario 74.
