If true, this would be very impressive. We've recognized the ability of microbes in the past to be able to synthesize environmental toxins (well, for us and many other macroorganisms they are toxins.. maybe not for certain microbes ). I have not yet read the actual research this is based on (was planning on going looking for PDFs later today)... but based on the WSJ article, this is very exciting, especially considering how long we expected the recovery in the Gulf to take from an environmental standpoint. Now we just have to see wait for the social and economic recoveries. ____________________ Robocop and 이명박 voted for me. |
