First, you might've been a large board, but now you're a small board. Your first step would be a great downsizing in the number of forums you have. Remember, the main purpose of having several different categories is so that no singular topic dominates all of the others.
Second, bump up the text size. It's 2012, we're not stuck in 800x600 land anymore. 
Third, make a clear and concise decision as to who you want to populate your board. Having a bunch of users who do nothing but harass everyone, or having a bunch of users who have repeatedly proven themselves to be unable to contribute anything worthwhile is not a good idea for a thriving community. Quality over quantity, etc. Being down to 10 quality users and 2 posts a day is still better than having 50 users and 100ppd that are nothing but fluff. Fourth, ditch the legacy, because it's no longer relevant. As in, you might've started as a rom hacking centric forum, but that obviously isn't the case anymore. Maybe you guys no longer have a focus, and maybe you're better off that way. Fifth, "board2"? Change your name, guys; nobody's going to know what this means. Hell, even something like "bored2death" would be better.
If you guys are all programmers, you should post about your programming projects. Like to play video games? Discuss what you're playing. Like a particular song or a particular band? That's good to post about too. Who knows, you might find you'll attract some like-minded peeps and find a new interest for the board to develop around. (Also hi, I haven't posted here in 4 years. Posted by Bloodstar Not quite, even I use a motorola q9h using windows mobile 6.2, the text is quite reable most of the time. Yes the fonts is small, but as long as you know how to adjust the browsers setting on mobile devices it will do you fine. Try using opera mini and see if it works out better for you. @Black Hole: Netbooks and laptops, 1024 x 600 will that do or a higher resolution bump for this site ? I know you don't want to have to go through all the trouble, but why not make board also available in mobile/portable device formats ? I think if you did this, anybody coming through the site on small screens and looking for specific info in the sub-forums here would be much more happier. |

I know your the boss here, but why not spend some time observing the sub-forums and steadily build a list and bring it back here when you reply ? Besides rom hacking, which is just a little bit weak right now, other sub-forums are going down the drain. Mainly about 4 or 5 of them, however I know some people who might be interested in the place if it improves. But some people don't like all the spam which will prevent them from registering. :\ Give us a list and I'll run with it during next week. Your efforts are good I might add, but you are lacking backup around here. |

Now if only there was someone else in this entire fucking country who'd find this place cool...
As for my excuse to why I'm not so active at all...well I want to make a hack that a fair amount of people find decent, and doesn't disappear in the shades like all the ones before did. It's like my ticket that you take and then decide whether to let me in or not. |

Well to be totally honest I think Board 2 still has years left of up-time but that won't happen unless activity starts rising, and the only way to do that is...well I don't know that much cause it has to be done without advertising on another place...
Besides I notice that all the older members are slowly coming back now, but..I'm not sure how active or how many will come back. All I wanna say is I'm gonna stay..I'll be as active as i can but I'm only one member..and besides sometimes I have real life stuff and I'm hacking so...yeah.. That's just my 2 cents.. :3 |

If you look at closely yami, its almost like being in a magazine publishing company or small media association. If people do come and all they see is old, they wont stick around much at all. When I got home, I'll talk to luna and maybe you to see what might be workable in acmlm 2 or not. |

I think some of the people I interact might be interested in this. Since people hack and mod pc games to a certain degree that they would find this place somewhat comfortable as to what they are doing. As for the trolling part, thats something that most people cannot escape and it will not die off anytime soon. I say since I started to really get more involved in pc gaming in late spring. I have almost ended up in a fight about everyday or night in gaming or damn game chat. Yet people from around different parts of the globe still see me from yester-week and wave and its just like any other nonsense day.
