I voted for ROM hacking, not that it's the popular voting choice, evidently. Even though I haven't been ROM hacking as much as I used to back before I just wanted to work on some other personal stuff, I'm still very interested in ROM hacking as a whole, and I look forward to frequent activity in the ROM hacking community. I was led to Board 2 and Romhacking.net and joined them for that reason. It's understandable that there are other things for people to do and over time ROM hacking as a whole has shifted more from quantity to quality and that is perhaps why there is less 'general' activity nowadays, though sometimes it's interesting just to see the little stuff that might only be criticized, just because it results in new posts, and any posts to some degree can potentially motivate others to get back into it as well. I for one have missed new SMB3 hack-related YouTube videos that were once uploaded on a daily basis, but have lately not been appearing so frequently. I know board team hacks only really ever work out with experienced and dedicated members who can hack a common game and have the free time and overall interest to pursue such a project, which could encourage posts and possibly bring in some new people who could be lurking and just waiting for that right opportunity to join (yes, that's definitely a long shot, but it could happen... maybe).

And yeah, I can understand that view. I joined this place myself at inc3 due to romhacking stuffz. But after the split 2x combo rom hacking have been going downhill in activity on all fronts, sadly.

I'm sure most of those posts are of the "GOD this place is dead" variety. I'm not sure I'd really even CALL those posts.....

So I'll say it's 100% dead. And I'm an ADMIN there. I doubt Ice Man ever even goes on it. I haven't seen him online for years, myself.
