Just wanted everyone to know I'm starting Megaman Ultra 2 again. I have one dedicated day a week, where I can put alot of time and effort into my work.

I've also decided on changing the name of the game to "Megaman Evolution" for the sake of making this fresh for myself, and since the transition from classic Megaman to X, is evolution in itself.

I've uploaded a video of the pre-intro/intro. I made this just about a year ago.

Over the past month, I've begun jotting down ideas on how I want this entire game to play out. Before I never had a gameplan, just went gun-ho and started coding, and inserting stuff, and in doing that, there were things that I didnt like, and I began undoing, redoing, rethinking, and that ate up alot of time, and nothing ever really got done. Plus 5 years ago I had a severe lacking in asm skills. But I'm at the point in my asm ability, where I can do pretty much whatever I want to a Megaman rom, and fullfill all my ideas.

It may not in the end be as fancy as MI, Forever, Oddysee, in terms of asm trickery, amazing mapper usage, and imo, people from Capcom secretly working on romhacks for kicks, :-p But I'm hoping that it will bring alot of joy to people that play it, and that the game is fun in the eyes of people that play it, and, for me to finally close the book on my vision of the rise of X.

Take whatever you've played in the Ultra 2 alpha, and throw it out the window. I'm starting entirely from scratch.

Megaman Evolution Pre-Intro/Intro

What I'm most proud of in this video, is I completely redid the capsule i ripped from Megaman 8, and properly stripped it using YY-CHR, and, you get to see X in action, wiping out Dr.Light's helper robots. *I love how I made poor Fireman cover his face before being obliterated*

Again, this intro I did was made a year ago. Most likely I'll be removing the image of Megaman being asleep, since at the end of Ultra, he's pretty much wide awake, and in his traditional armor.

Thanks for watching, and I'll keep you all updated as much as I can. I was able to write so much here today, and upload a video, cause I'm stealing someones wifi right now in my work truck. I don't have the internet at home, (cant afford it) I've been using my cellphone to write stuff. And the reason why my replies, posts are so short, is i'm only allowed 255 characters. :-/

Take care everyone. :-)

Awesome Intro vid. It's good to see this hack resurrected! I know many others besides myself are waiting patiently to play this Gem. Can't wait to see more Infidel. Great work as always.

this is the issue im having with my hack.
watch the vid.Okay! so you ressurected MMUL2, there were a few things that didnt make sense, the intro didnt explain the story real well and i always thought that the megaman x style intro used in the beta was kinda bitchen and stood out from all the other hacks, its what made this one different. aswell as the characters, stages, music, and an engaging story.

If you need my help, I am glad to help you. Graphic and story Wise.
But why don't you join Megaman Odyssey first? Some practice would be good for you later in your own project.
We have been slow since the programming itself became a heavy burden for Kuja Killer.

Your not seriously restarting on a new unmodified mm4 rom right ? i hope not cause that would be absolutely silly and very stupid in my opinion. No offense, just please dont start on a new rom. Keep using the one we expanded to the mmc5 mapper.

Without it, you'll be forced to go back to all those limits that the game originally had, all those really confusing and headache inducing formats mm4 had and so on. (until we expanded it and redid everything).

the main main thing more than anything was coverting the rom to CHR-ROM and implementing that "frame swapping system" from mm5, where any sprites can switch graphic pages anytime anywhere on the go instantly. That took aloooong time for me to do on mm4.

------------
i totally completely understand you're restarting the hack, that's all fine and all, no problem. but it wont be fine in my personal opinion, if you start a fresh copy of the rom. Excuse my negative comments.

I'd say same as Kuja Killer. You know, some levels in the first Maverick Revenge were remade 5-6 times before I finaly made something I liked.
Restarting is probably only gonna end up in a vicious circle

Do you honestly think about Kuja Killer being right about not starting the project from scratch? I think it's true or not! Either way, it's up to the creator. Anyway, my brother restarted the same SMW hack from scratch for the 8th time since 2006 and even though after my computer broke down for a year and a half.

When my brother starts his SMW hack from scratch, it helps him to improve it even better and does worry about bugs and glitches because he has so many of them during the beta tests and been re-released 4 times.

Let me ask you something important, scroll up to the top of thread, next read the dates and look at each one below it.
Why are you bumping up a "4" year old thread ?
If you wanted to know if he still working on the project, why not send a him a message ?
You could even mail him on youtube and see what he says. :/

Please man don't bump the old threads, not unless its the author updating any information.

Shit, I thought that infidelity was picking this hack up!

From what I remember he cancelled this hack, so I wouldn't wait if I were you.

Yeah antonio had my number there for a minute, besides that I never even saw this video.
I hope infildelt will pick it up again and work on it, still haven't beat his old hack.
Is their a nes emulator I can use with fraps, everytime I use fceux recording feature things get out of sync with .avi compression.

Frustates the heck out of me when I can't record for 2 hours and have the end result all jacked up.

I think VirtuaNES might be your best bet, Mikey. Give it a shot, I use to use it back in the day.

FCEUX is giving you problems, I never had a problem with recording with it. When I record with FCEUX I always use Xvid-MPEG4 Codec, give that a try it should be no problem.

Actually nestopia worked out, that way I can record and stop and make segments.
Also yeah the xvid-mepg4 codec works, its just for some off the wall reason things get jacked up.
I'll be able to upload some full time nes plays for youtube.
