I have created a YouTube Channel for Super Mario RPG tutorials and showcasing of other hacks people have floated around YouTube itself.
Due to the unfortunate killing off of Youtube Groups, we could not allow everyone in the world to post their own video of their own hack where they wanted. However, if you wish, you may send me a link to your video, or the video itself, and I can upload it to the channel, as-is. Even with just a link, I can download the video and re-upload it. (I think.) Channel can be viewed here. Do whatever you feel is necessary, since I don't believe in asking people to subscribe. It's not professional. Thanks. NPCs: Making NPCs Walk (Action Scripts) NPCs: Treasure Boxes (most of them) Event Scripts: "Hey Mario, look what you're standin' in!" MISC: Adding / Removing Party Members and OW Menu Commands. MISC: Debug Menu MINIGAMES: Minecart Minigame Overview ------------------------------------------ For the Demo mentioned in the video, MINIGAMES: Minecart Minigame Overview, click this below. http://www.mediafire.com/?4u8114hcgmvykz5 I completely forgot to mention that the Minecart maps are a bit more puzzle-based than a ride through a number of rails. The Sidescrolling level is meant to be sped through. The main idea is to give a sense of what could go wrong and what could be done in the game, as well as some errors that could be shown in game if certain conditions are met. ____________________ Introduction to The Lazy Shell Editor (youtube) Super Modify RPG's Youtube Channel. |

This is great, definitely a step in the right direction. I hope this will bring people to be motivated enough to begin hacking this game to a large degree, or at least spread to more people.
I'd like to suggest possible tutorials: - How to make an NPC display dialogue. (A audio guide for this tutorial: http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=4582) - How to make an NPC walk in a map. I can't wait to see what the future has in store. Good thinking, Elementalpowerstar. ____________________ Layout by Erik557 & LDA.

New video added.
My apologizes in advance if the post counts as a necro post to bring the thread back up to the top. ____________________ Introduction to The Lazy Shell Editor (youtube) Super Modify RPG's Youtube Channel. |

I noticed the new videos in my youtube feed. Thank you for updating us! A couple of them really made me want to try editing the game again--I wanted to at first, but it seemed way too complicated for a fun hobby, so I put it off in favor of editing a Bomberman game :p |

Posted by Celice You do really have to have a big dedication to the game to want to edit it, I'm so sad that it's complexity and vast amount of stuff to do is leading so many people away and putting out so few hacks. Even myself, I don't want to try to do anything out of little demonstrations because I lose interest too quickly. I hate to say that it might have been a lost cause to make an excellent, full length hack, (outside of stuff like stat upgrades and Hard Mode challenges.) but the sheer amount of work needed would be many times that more of the same quality of a different hack, in my opinion at least. I do hope either I or someone else gets enough motivation to start and keep at a hack that will one day be known throughout this small community. For how much Gian and Omega have put work into it-- they deserve to see their tool used to it's fullest, and produce a hack of equal quality. ____________________ Introduction to The Lazy Shell Editor (youtube) Super Modify RPG's Youtube Channel. |
