Since I know everyone here plays video games to some extent, I was curious as to how many of us played any of the multitudes of TCG/CCGs out there.

I figure it would be interesting to share combos or deck builds here, too, to see how everyone plays.

I'll start

I play Magic, and (to a lesser extent) Yugioh.

In Magic, I either go for Blue for control, or Green for aggro. Although, I have decks put together that cover all five colors and a multitude of styles.

I'll post the themes of my decks, and their content (if requested):
  • GW Life gain aggro
  • BU Rogues
  • G Aggro
  • WRG Slivers
  • WBG Persist
  • UB Control aggro
  • B Creature kill
  • UB Burn mill
  • WBG Fungus
  • RB Madness
  • R Burn

In Yugioh, unless I'm running a certain theme, I usually play a defense-heavy deck that relies on opponents blindly attacking face-down wall monsters.

My Yugioh themes are:
  • Elemental Hero/Warrior
  • Beast
  • Spellcaster
  • Dragon
  • Machine

A little long winded, I know.

The reverse for me.
I used to play YGO quite a bit, not so much anymore. I tried out MTG for a short while but Stark totally defeated me .
Any decks I made were usually reliant on many small combos and effects, although really it was whatever cards I had that determined what kind of deck I had.

A few years ago I had a couple hundred Yu-Gi-Oh cards (even though I never learned how to play properly ).

That was the only card game of the type that you were talking about that I was even mildly interested in. Once I found out that it was super easy to create duplicates of the best cards to play against friends for fun, I really didn't feel like playing any more

I did play several few four games of Yu-Gi-Oh before I quit though.

I've only used fake copies of real cards in Magic, namely my Fungus deck. I only use the fakes because I wanted to build the deck while I knew what I wanted to go into it.

I still have loads of fun in Magic, anyway. Hell, I just played a four-man free-for-all that came down to a close match between my Fungi and my friend's Giants. I only lost because I misplayed my final turn.

I used to play Pokémon TCG some. That was many years ago, though, but I still have my cards.

I had a Psychic/Electric type deck and a Water/Fighting one called "Water Blast" if I'm not mistaken. They were not heavily modified, though, I think. They even had some Pokémon League over here. You played against other players, and after a certain amount of points accumulated, you'd get an emblem. Kinda like a gym badge.

I collected Pokémon cards once, back in the beginning. Never actually played a match, though.

Even though I never felt too serious about it, one thing did give me cold shivers -- when that one movie was released, they gave away the Ancient Mew card in the cinema.

I was sitting there in the lobby, trying to decode the card as I waited for the movie to start, and there were these kiddies running about and using their TCG decks as Pogs. Including those Ancient Mew cards.

I must've been the only minor in the whole lobby that day who had any appreciation for the things at all.

Okay what? Could you repeat that in a proper list? You've got card names running together into one big chunk that couldn't possibly fit on one line there.

THE EGYPTIAN GOD CARDS:
Obelisk the Tormentor
Slifer the Sky Dragon
The Winged Dragon of Ra

EXODIA THE FORBIDDEN ONE LIST
Left arm of the forbidden one
right arm of the forbidden one
Left leg of the forbidden one
right leg of the forbidden one
EXODIA THE FORBIDDEN ONE

OTHERS:

BLACK LUSTER SOLDIER - ENVOY OF THE BEGINNING
CHAOS EMPEROR DRAGON - ENVOY OF THE END

I have one Japanese and one American version of each and all of them are first editions if I remember right.

Exodia... yeah, I remember reading about that one. Need a whole bunch of related cards to "put it together", as it were?

Yes and here is the text from the monster card and how it works.

When you have "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Left Leg of the Forbidden One", "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", and "Left Arm of the Forbidden One", in addition to this card in your hand, you win the Duel

There's a newer monster card that is summonable if all five pieces are in the graveyard, Exodia Necross is its name.

It allows you to pull Exodia back to your hand, one piece at a time. Have fun keeping it alive, though, because I think it's only as strong as Exodia's head.
