Ha! Just from reading the title of this thread, I was going to say DSOTM
That's really one of the only albums I can think of right off the top of my head. There's lots of other good albums, but none quite like Dark Side. |

OK Computer, IMO, was OK. Same with any Alan Parsons Project. A lot of people dig that stuff, but for some reason I just like Dark Side moreso than any other 'trippy' album. |

The Postal Service - Give Up
Definitely one of my favorite bands and albums. You just need to give it a listen to understand why. The Strokes - Is This It? I can listen to this album a hundred times and not get tired of it. The Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not I don't think I know of any other bands quite as upbeat and energizing as the arctic monkeys, without sacrificing the overall sound of a song. Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head What can I say. I'm a sucker for all the beautifully sappy love songs on this album. |

Posted by Clockworkz love the thought you put into that post. Danielle: I can't really remember, but is Postal Service like sort of pop/electronica type? I can be either right, or really off on that one haha. |

Just on the basis of consistency up and down the track list, you can't ignore The Sounds: "Living in America" or Idlewild: "100 Broken Windows". It's extremely rare that I'll find a CD that I'll listen to from start to finish. |

I'll add these three old reliables.
Ugly Casanova - Sharpen Your Teeth and Offspring - Smash and Mindless Self Indulgence - Frankenstein Girls May Seem Strangely Sexy Three different sounds, both awesome without the need for track-skipping. |

Favourite album? That's a tough one, really. I have bought (and downloaded) quite a few albums, but I just keep it all in one giant playlist shuffling randomly through the songs.
But, lets see.. I definately like both of the Stonegard albums I own (Arrows and From Dusk Till Doom, saw them live, good stuff.), and oh yeah, Children of Bodom's Hate Crew Deathroll is an asskicking album. Oh yeah, and In Flames' Whoracle and Soundtrack To Your Escape, too, actually. Gotta love it. Keep Of Kalessin's Armada is a good album, too. But it's really hard for me to point out favourites, I like a lot of music, and I can't truely decide which I like more. There might even be albums here that should've gotten mentions, but which I left out. Though, it is not often I like an *entire* album all the way. I might not even like these albums that much, but atleast they're good albums. ____________________ Damage done. |

Posted by Toxic Me too. I wasn't actually expecting anyone to answer with it. I guess it's not really that surprising, I mean, it is a popular album. Anyway, yeah, DSOTM by far. It's practically what introduced me to music. At the very least, it was one of the albums I listened to when I was 13 and trying to decide what my taste in music was kind of going to be. I've probably listened to it over a thousand times start-to-finish by now. You'd think it'd have gotten old with me but it hasn't, not yet anyway. Admittedly, though, I do tend to skip On The Run quite a lot. And the clocks at the beginning of Time, too, although they didn't bother me quite as much after repeated listens... the first time I listened I practically had a heart attack. Also, I'm quite partial to Wish You Were Here, also by Pink Floyd, The White Album, and Fragile by Yes. There's probably a lot of other albums I can name that stick out in my mind, but I'm trying to keep this post rather short. There's plenty I can write for another time, though |

To the Pink Floyd fans here: If you haven't listened to Animals yet, I'd strongly urge you to do so. The idea behind the album is kind of oversimplistic, but the actual music is probably the best I've heard ouf of Pink Floyd. It's... immersive, sad yet uplifting. Sane but bordering on madness. There's three main songs and two book end songs. Except, in stark contrast to Wish You Were Here, the bookend songs are short and the meat is in the middle of the album.
Another CD I can listen to from start to finish is Aenima by Tool. I can't say I care too much for Tool's other albums - they all seem like a lifeless imitation of Aenima to me. I often skip through the transition tracks if I can, though. Some of them are good, some of them are hilarious, and some are just ok. But each song on the album is enjoyable in its own unique way. The first two songs are normal length, and from that point on it pretty much alternates a full length song with a short transition song (some aren't really songs at all.) This is the kind of music you'll want to listen to when the lights are off and you're on your computer late at night, working on a project. I didn't find it very good for just driving, I have to admit, but it works in most other scenarios. . Finally, Full Circle is a rap CD by a group called Hieroglyphics that I also strongly recommend if you are into rap that is "more than just bustin caps and fuckin bitches", as Del the Funky Homosapien puts it. The lyrics are excellent, the music they put their rhymes to is excellent and involving. It's not something you'd really play at a party like Jay Z or whatever, but I have a great time driving while listening to it. It's more accessible than Wu-Tang, I'll say that much about it. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |

Posted by Toxic Yeah, they could be described as electronica. But it's not rave music or anything, just a nice beat. <3 I'm sure you've heard their single "Such Great Heights" before? |

Posted by timdevril50755 Oh man, I forgot to list that album. I got it a while ago and absolutely love it, considering that American Idiot is also another great album on my list. Nice choice, nice choice. |

I haven't been able to get off Oceanborn by Nightwish for the past week or so.
Cult by Apocalyptica has also held my soul in a vice grip. Usually I listen to a certain album for a long time on repeat in winamp and then find another one, the cycle repeats. I feel a longing for Inhuman Rampage by Dragonforce though. That might be next. ____________________ I like gay porn. It's hot |

Posted by MathOnNapkins How have we not touched base before? Although I'm not a huge Animals fan, I listen to Heiroglyphics and a lot of underground hip hop, like Aes Rock, Sage Francis, Atmosphere, etc. |
