Well it was originally a message board founded around ROM hacking, but over the years it sort of shifted focus toward a broader spectrum of topics. There are a fair number of people here who aren't even ROM hackers anymore (or never were to begin with), but still plenty of programmers, gamers, and just general average people (like myself) kicking around. As far as various incarnations of the board, there are a couple in the archive, and around three years ago or so (I forget when really) the userbase here split, with half leaving to form a different board that does roughly the same thing this one does.
