Is anyone else getting tired of this stupid "add bacon to everything" trend? I read a tidbit about bacon cologne earlier, and that sealed the deal for me. It seems it's gotten bad enough I can't go a single day without seeing some absurd new novelty product praising bacon like the second coming. Within the last couple of months my regional newspaper ran an article praising bacon on the cover of its Living section. I won't tell you for a moment bacon doesn't taste good, and I did think it was kind of amusing when this trend started, but now it's just gotten obnoxious. So my real question is: where did this trend come from? Bacon seems to have turned itself into some kind of real-world meme, which makes it hard for me to believe all this stuff exists just because it tastes good. Most of it sprung up in the last year or so, and at least where I live it's turning into a sort of "glorified vice" for an older demographic, sort of like alcohol is for the younger demographic here. So..
