I remember when TMNT was as popular as pokemon. I used to run around the playground with my friends and we'd all carry sticks and hit eachother, pretending to be ninja turtles.

There seems to be a huge decline in the quality of movies where drawn cartoons get turned into crappy cgi. I really hope this movie pulls it off without disgracing TMNT.

WAY better than I expected. I figured I'd walk out disappointed, but really, it was great.

I'd give it like a 7/10.

Spoiler:
Totally hinted for a sequel too!

I think everyone used to do that when they were kids.

Shit I know I did.

Yeah, some idiot brought their two or three year old when I went to see it

I don't think that's the best statement to make. It is marketed to children. And you saw it in a public place. If you don't want to see it with kids go to the latest showing.

You italicized the wrong word, friend. It is marketed to children. Not toddlers. Only idiots bring toddlers to the movie theater. They are not going to enjoy the movie. They are just going to be upset that you're making them sit still for a couple hours.

You're going to be so surprised when you get to the stage of parenting.

When my friends bring their kids over to my place the kids love to go see Imax movies. The fact that there are stellar moving images is more than enough to engage a child. Plus, the glamour and glitz of a movie theatre is usually quite exciting, even for a small child.

I have a dozen or so nephews and neices I help raise (Yeah, I have a big family, it sucks). One of the younger kids, albert, he's 2 or something, is completely engulfed when he sees spongebob on TV, when a young kid sees what they want to see, they'll sit there and watch it until a commercial is on, or its over. Every kid is different, but toddlers are defenitely capable of sitting and shutting up and watching a film for a few hours.

less talk about accidental pregnancies, moar talk about green ninjas plz.

Alright, alright, whatever. I was less annoyed by the parent bringing the kid than I was by them not leaving (or at least taking the kid to the theater's lobby) when the kid was obviously (and loudly) not happy about being there.

Heh, I felt like a little kid while watching the movie.

Yeah, same here.

The characters (turtles mainly) were just so dead on it was mindblowing. It very well should have literally been called TMNT4! (though, we all know 3 sucked ass. Yes, yes it did). But yeah, it stayed so true to their characters.

The animation, fighting, and everything else about the movie was top notch as well.

And I heard that the movie was down on a low budget...so just imagine what's in store graphically for part II....I mean, come on..of course they have to make a part II.

How well is it performing, financially? that determines the sequelability, unless one has already been optioned and such.

I saw an article somewhere recently that it beat out 300 last weekend, I believe. I think that means its doing pretty good?

That or people are going based on the reviews and star ratings of 300.

Yeah, the numbers add up that making a sequel makes sense.

:/

I was a little disapointed. It wasn't a bad movie or anything, I guess I just expected more. The storyline felt pretty out of place, even for ninja turtles.
