Well, it IS a game.
So, anyone here play this wonderful CCG besides me?
If so, what kind of decks do you run, whatever?
I just wanna start some conversation about the game in general...
So, yeah. I just got into the game a few months back, and spending money on those damn cards ever since

I play Magic extensively... unfortunately the only version of Magic I play is the Microprose version.

I use to play yugioh a lot. I never was interested in magic, except for beating my friend with his "crappy forest deck". It was fun.

I have been playing, what, 2 years now MTG.

Most of my decks have been ruined, since I have lost my interests in it. But I have my comedy deck still somewhere here....

That game was the shit and I wish they would remake it with modern specs and cards. Ravnica and surroundings would be a perfect setting for it too.

As for the cards themselves, I've got a little collection, but I don't actively play because I don't know anyone interested. I don't play competitively because I can't afford to.

I used to, but I rarely do. I still have a good three thousand cards in my room... none of which are mine.

I played a good amount years ago. I still have my decks here, but I haven't looked at any of the new cards after the Mirrodin block. I loved making crazy-ass decks.

Is this game hard to pick up? I've been thinking of getting my Warhammer buddies to pick it up with me...

It's not too hard to learn.

While you're at it, switch from Warhammer to BattleTech.

Screw that, we play fantasy, which is ten times better then anything else. And we don't allow Chaos players, because Chaos is just bullshit.

I still play every now and then.

Mostly I walk over to people playing in public and ask if they've ever heard of Unlimited or Revised, and then I'm an elitist jerk about it.

A few of my friends play enough that they bring cards to parties, so occasionally I join in. It can be fun, I'm just not nearly as obsessed with it as I used to be.

Over the years it's become more and more of an intricate web of rules and timing. So yeah it's tough to jump into, plus it's more expensive to keep up with than an addiction to crack and heroin.

Still, it's fascinating so follow, whether you're an active player or not.

LOL. No shit.

My friend played Chaos... I swear to GOD, I quit Warhammer the day TWO of his fucking CHOSEN KNIGHTS OF KHORNE MADE A SUCCESSFUL ARMOUR SAVE ON A GOD DAMNED CANNON BALL!

SERIOUSLY, IT'S CANNON BALL. No fucking armour is going to stop a CANNON BALL.

Magic: The Gathering is a very good card game. They used to play it at my other school, and I got really interested. I pretty much have a deck of each color, then one with all five, the first I made.

Obviously, I suck and don't play anymore.

I never did take my one deck to tournaments. It probably would have lost horribly, but it was able to win as fast as three turns.

Edit: Hey, there wouldn't happen to be a site where you could put in your collection and it'll estimate how much it's worth, would there?

Inquest used to have a calculator, I think.

Also, the game went bullshit after WotC got bought up.The new card layout is super lame. The rules are lamer than ever. My Urza's Guilt deck is po..../////fdhbnvdwerful good. But I sold most all my other cards. Got a good 300 for them.

My friends and I play WH40k. I don't give a fuck about BattleTech, WH40k is the shizzle if only because it has the greatest back story ever. I don't own an army, though

I haven't played since like... Alliances. Ice Age "block." I played some after that, and have played recently, but I really think the game has gone downhill. Too much loss of individual color flavor, for one thing.

As for tournaments, I won a few around here with my red/green power monkey deck. It was very much a quick kill deck with true dual lands and an all-blue sideboard for if I desperately needed some denial. Not that the deck did nearly as well that way, but people didn't expect it and it could mean the difference if the deck got shut down in the first game.

The key cards in the deck were my kird apes, taigas, berserk, wheel of fortune, regrowth, cheap DDs and buffing instants. It was a 4-5 turn kill deck, ideally.

My other good deck was an Ice Age/Alliances Lord of Tresserhorn deck. The predominant color was black and it was a fun deck to win with.

I wish my cards hadn't all been lost and stolen I loved my decks.

I don't own an army yet, either. I'm thinking of going Tyranid. I need to study the codices first. I wanna be absolutely sure what I want to do before I lay down the money for a serious army.
