Actually, the mileage part is a typo.

What the fuck are you talking about?
B18 may be in that picture, but thank you so much for asking a question somehow by using total bullshit.

What the fuck are you talking about?
It was a simple question, what's right after the B18 along the side of the engine. and, It's B. The reason is, the number makes the difference between 130 horsepower engine, or a 200 hp engine. thx 4 the help!

and hey,

I don't care if it is super cool looking, I just want it to get me places and not breakdown.
I feel the same way! Except, I want my car to get me there fast.

97 Ford Explorer with 218,000 Miles

188000

lol

I'm at... 180,xxx on my corolla.

It's been used before and I think I might sell it soon and get myself a new eclipse.
I personally like the 95-99 eclipses. sexy!

I bought my 1990 Ford Tempo GL used for around $500. It runs fine, although sometimes it won't start when temperatures are cold (-10° C or colder), and the "CHARGE" light occasionally comes on for a few seconds to a few minutes, intermittently, in cold. The "CHECK ENGINE" light has been on for a few weeks, and the "BRAKE FLUID" light came on about a week or so ago (the brake fluid level is fine, probably bad brake fluid sensor or something).

I can't wait until I can finally afford another car, as I'm looking at Hyundai Elantras now

I have a 2004 Mazda 3, with just 8000 miles on it.

BEAUTIFUL.

But I work my ass off to make the payments + insurance + gas + maintenance for that thing. You can only make so much money at an after school part time job.

So I won't need a new car for (hopefully) a very long time.

I plan on someday acquiring a car for transport--or not, as might be the case. I hear they're a hassle at college. But I use public transport, since I'm lame.

I'm not interested in a car. I get along fine with a bicycle and the bus system, in Detroit. Since I plan to live in Europe, I should have no problem over there with their trains and such.

I hardly ever drive, generally when I have to go >15 miles, I would take a car.

What if you don't like life in Europe? I know you don't like Detroit--my brother said he hated living there, and that was for a few months--but isn't it a bit optimistic to think that Europe will be such a great place to live?

I've got a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country with 175458.3+ miles on it. (1400+ on the new motor and 174058.3 from before).

Funny thing is, it's like the ONLY one in the county!

It's a good ride and all, but the headliner is falling down and I've got a nasty fuse problem that I can't fix... and that stupid CHECK ENGINE light is on permanently!

(And my radio clock doesn't keep time/play tapes like it should/have a CD player at all)

But it gets me to where I need to go (i.e. school) so I'm OK with it... piece of junk as it may be...

Just got the car last night...its not that bad..I kinda wish it wasn't white, but, hey, its a car. It's very roomy inside too and has a lot of buttons to mess with.

Going to get the tags on Tuesday (since its my next day off) and I just got the insurance last night, which is around $98 a month.

For the record, Europe is a pretty nasty place to drive. Gas prices, really. They're in the roof.

But you generally don't need to drive in Europe. Most places (even small towns) are connected to a bus or train network, and buildings in cities are closer together so you can walk or bike to your destination.

Most American development wastes a lot of space.

Unless it's housing, where (these days) you get very little space and a 3'x3' area of grass for your pet to shit on.

American public transportation is shit anyway, and the govt's solution to it is to just expand roads to temporarily solve a much larger problem.

Sigh.

From my experience, housing in the Detroit area is generally pretty roomy. It's like the Land of the McMansions.

Then again, the Detroit area is shrinking in population and increasing in area, so it gets more and more spread out as middle-class families move to the far suburbs to get away from the lower classes, and others leave the area entirely, often for ridiculously hot places like Texas.

I'm jealous. I almost bought a new Mazda 3 5-door last year but decided to wait. Now the IRS notifies me that I owe them most of the money I inherited from my grandpa because it wasn't donated or whatever in the right way, so I guess that's not happening

My truck guzzles gas and has 225,000 miles on it.
But it IS nice having a truck during those times when you NEED a truck.

I fix it?

I have a savings account from whatever amount of my checks I put away... with more than enough to do repairs, so long as I don't (knock on wood) total the whole thing. But ideally, that money will be spent on a long awaited trip to London, and college.

Kas: Yeah, I'm lucky. I love my car. And for it being new, it was incredibly cheap. ~12,500 brand new, with power everything, A/C, etc. It was a great deal. And I get discounts on my insurance because I'm a good student, and have a clean (knock on wood again) record of no tickets or accidents. And I get almost 30 mpg city driving, which is pretty damn good.

I don't even have a cassette player, either

My last car didn't have one either. and my R/F modulator ATE batteries, which sucked even though I recharge all of my batteries.

I can't live without road tunes, and the radio stations here are all horrible. Stupid sarcastic redneck talk radio on the rock station instead of actual music makes me want to kill.

"My" (i.e., the one I'd be driving if I actually had my license) car is some old, old Nissan Maxima I've dubbed the "crapmobile"; it used to be great, but it's just kind of really fallen apart the past few years and the 180000+ miles it has isn't helping...

The interior is kind of trashed/worn from extreme desert heat, and the right door paneling is practically falling off, and the auto-seatbelts are broken too...
