Not ports, but true remakes. I'll count the current Cave Story 3DS as a remake. That's a good example.

If anything, I think Faxanadu should be remade. Its time has come once again.

So I'm sure there are a thousand reasons to tear this idea apart, but I would love to see Link's Awakening remade as a 3D-platformer, in the style of Twilight Princess or that new Skyward Sword look. It is probably my favorite game from that series in terms of flow and storyline. If it were assembled cleverly, it could make for an incredible expansion of the original.

Didn't talk much about Faxanadu... I think it should be remade kinda how Oblivion operates. I mean, it's going to have its own style, sure, but it just feels to me that it would be the kind of game Oblivion is today.

I think Faxanadu would be interesting as a fable type game, Like Fable 1-3. One of those types. Give it some mythology mixed in. On that note, How about Battle of Olympus like that?

I would like a well-made remake of FFVI for DS or 3DS. But no stupid voices.

SNES Star Fox.

The Star Fox 2 stuff could be thrown in as a bonus (but is not worth it's own game).

I'd personally like to see a remake of all the Timesplitters games, but that's clearly not going to happen.

There's nothing I'd like to see remade. If I wanted to play those games, I'd go play them.
I'd prefer to see more new IPs emerging.

So all of your games are intact? No missing games? No broken systems? No games you ever passed up?

~zkip:
I'd love to see a remake of "Little Nemo: The Dream Master" for the NES. That game is way too awesome to be forgotten.

I don't mind emulating games I've never played. Only certain game hold special appeal for me to play on their original consoles, so porting those would ruin that aspect of the aesthetic.

I have no idea how this game didn't come to mind. It's one of my childhood favorites.
I would love to see it done with similar artistic style to the remake of A Boy and His Blob for Wii. Throw in some symphony renditions of the original music and I would pay good money for it.

Actually, this would be awesome to see, I partially redact my previous statement.

I couple of ideas that I had been fiddling around with...

Megaman 1-6 remake. I'd say more of just an improvement. Don't change the limitations of resolution, just allow for more colors. Break some of the limits that the NES would pose, but keep the soul of what Megaman really is. Have much less limits on music, too. Megaman with VRC7 and/or other sound expansions... *fangasm*

Another thing is, I'd like to see remakes of games that never really had a chance due to shitty programming, or some other reason. Castlevania 2, for example. That would rock.

Don't you like the feeling of pulling out an old dusty game and playing it?

Well, and that to be honest emulators made by people who want them accurate as possible is probably closer to the real thing than the "Good enough" emulators made by the official company (Nintendo/Sega).

First Star fox would make for an excellent Wiiware title...

I miss the days of the Game Boy Donkey Kong and want to see that remade again.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong was nice, but oh god the spinoffs THE SPINOFFS

...Actually, March of the Minis was nice, too. Just too short and too easy.

Just because of how many of the arcade remakes are turning out, I'd love to see a new Galaga.
