These things are quite annoying. We got one of these when we were watching the Super Bowl! Luckily for us viewers, they showed it after the Packers intercepted the ball and not during the interception.

It doesn't really happen too often for me, but then again, I don't really watch that much television anymore. 
It's only really happened a couple times during the last few months, and it's always been on the same network. |

Well, I don't watch TV a whole lot anymore, so I dont notice it that much. It's kinda annoying when it happens during an important part of a TV show/movie, but otherwise it doesnt bother me a whole lot. |

Wouldn't a emergency broadcast system be more useful over the radio anyway?
I don't recall them doing any such tests on radio or tv's here, but every third month they're testing the alarms (for things like gas leaks and whatnot) at 15:00. All this stuff gets really annoying sometimes too. I don't watch TV much as well, but when I do watch it, I get some of these screens. Oh, I agree; the tests need to be broadcasting over radio instead. I usually get some of these annoying TV tests around noon or so. Why don't they do it at 3 A.M.? |
