This could of happened on either side of the campaign but I find this a little scary. This guy posted this video on youtube and some people on that campaign set out a search to find out to who was responsible. I wonder what would of happened if this guy was just a regular citizen tho, like many a forum poster here? Here is the video as posted by the guy who created it, ParkRidge47.

Personally I feel a boss should be able to fire an employee for any reason.

yeah I don't really care. shouldn't this go in debate/lameshit, though?

I also feel that way, and it's true for my state.

I'm going to have to disagree with Kasdarack and setz here, I think that the fact that this guy had nothing along the lines of "Job Security" is bullshit.

I'm fine living in a world were people get fired for being lazy bastards and not doing anything, but something that they did outside of work? Lame.

I mean, what if somebody here got fired because they used roms, or downloaded music or something like that? It's stupid.

or what if they murdered a whole family? that should have no bearing at all on his job if he's a good worker. a good boss would know not to fire him!

There are some things that should not matter with your job (i.e., expressing an opinion not directly related to your position, like this)

There are also other things that should, like mistahj's example.

It's like firing someone because they sneezed funny.

Sure. It's a really stupid and lame reason to fire someone. It sucks that people lose their jobs over meaningless bullshit.

But I still think its an employer's prerogative to fire someone for any reason they see fit. If you tell someone that they can only fire someone for certain reasons, then you couldn't lay people off or eliminate someone that you just don't feel will work out or whatever. An employer NEEDS to have the right to fire anyone for any reason.

(moves)

...aww.

Anyway, I guess the guy had a clause in his contract saying he wasn't allowed to do that sort of thing, and he did. I've got to say the ad was done well, but I'm sure he'll land on his feet.

Anyway, THIS DOES NOT BELONG HERE AND NEEDS MOVEMENT.

Really tho, if anyof us made a video on youtube that promotes one politician over another we shouldn't have to worry about losing our job.

Maybe if he wasn't connected to Obama (read the article, for the love of god) he wouldn't have been fired. His firm is supposed to be working with Obama's team and dealing with his image on the Internet; this video looks like blatant bashing of the opponent Clinton, and since this guy is connected to Obama, it's guilt by association. Pretty easy to see why the guy got canned, he made "the boss" look bad, whether he meant to or not.
