x1080 seems like an unacceptable lack of vertical screen space, and so I've been thinking to obtain that. Any comments, or experiences with monitors of the same resolution and similar size?

Having used a 1920x1200 and a 1920x1080 24" monitor side-by-side, the difference is minimal at best in terms of screen real estate.

Of course, the 16:10 monitor was an Apple iMac screen (which are LEDs instead of LCDs).

Just go with whatever feels comfortable.

Actually, all LED TV's use the same LCD technology as other regular LCD TV's. The difference lies in the backlight source. LED TV's use... LED's... while traditional LCD's use CCFL tubes.

Yeah, it was probably irrelevant to the discussion but LED backlighting sure is pretty.

I use a laptop but upon going to work I plug it up to another display so I get two screens. The other one being the internal display of the laptop of course, but the other one's some wide-gamut zillion inch high-resolution screen. Sometimes I stay up late at work doing work just to please my eyes under the shining lux of god.

There is actual LED monitors, but those are more expensive.

Most LED-marketed Monitors/TV's are just using it for light.

My new laptop is relatively new, but it doesn't even come close to comparing with the gigantic hugeness of yours =D

That's really really big. I think the biggest I've had is 1440x1200, but my brother has a huge one though. I don't know the dimensions of it but it is a lot bigger than my biggest.

Naulahauta- I use two screens with my computer =) I think it's really neat using the feature and being able to go from one to the other as if they are connected side by side =D
