Download Link
I been using this for awhile, and I forgot that Firefox 3 ever existed. It's much faster than Firefox 3, and pretty much catched up to Google Chrome and Opera, with even more Javascript engine improvements in the pipeline. At this point I'm actually surprised that Mozilla isn't pushing for a stable release soon as possible. :/ Most really popular extensions works in Firefox 4 (noscript etc). I so far gotten all old plugin works when I forcingly activate but there is probably a exception I hadn't found yet. Main features are the way faster JS engine and the hardware accelerated rendering. It used to be a Windows 7 only feature but is now in Win XP with Direct-X 9, and I think it's going to be/already is added for other platforms. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

It certainly has caught up with Opera.
That is, if you're referring to how they ripped off the ui. |

If you're referring to the way the UI is organized, I'm quite sure that both Opera and Firefox is ripping off Chrome. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

The funny thing about that O menu Haz pointed out... it was there in Opera 9.x too, at the very least. The trick is that Opera 9 had the regular menu bar turned on by default, while 10 had it disabled.
What I'd like to know is who had it first, enabled by default or otherwise. Chrome or Opera? ____________________ Wife make lunch - Shampoo Opera - give it a spin Spare some of your free time? <GreyMaria> I walked around the Lake so many goddamn times that my sex drive was brutally murdered Kawa rocks — byuu |

I have it installed on Windows (I'm not daring to use it for my full-time browser =p). I don't care for the UI changes, but it takes two clicks to get the menu and tab bar back to old style. At first I got pissed off when the status bar was removed then I found out that link locations are shown in the URL bar, so ... not so big of a deal either.
Speed-wise, it's nice but heh. |

The lack of status bar confused me as well, until I realized they retooled the URL bar to be reused instead. Looked like a space-saving solution to me, and the status bar is bit of a "legacy" thing too that web browsers seems to have for no reason at all now I think on it. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by AilureHow so? They show useful information, and it's not like the "new style" status bars that Fx and Chrome are using now weren't possible before, they just weren't thought of because we weren't "Web 2.0" yet. ____________________ |

Well, a lot of things that used to be informed in the status bar have been moved to be shown elsewhere, such as the tab icon having "spinning circle" for loading, encryption status mentioned in the URL bar etc.
Then again, I tend to have bias towards anything that saves vertical space in browsers without taking away any information. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

You can turn it back on? I hadn't seen the option for that, but then I hadn't looked close enough for that.
Unless you're thinking about the menubar now. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I hadn't bothered turning on the menubar since it appears when you press down alt, which is good enough for me. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org
