Now not exactly something I should be playing right when I have an honours thesis due, I have been doing it irregardless.

And oh god it is hard. Awesome, but hard. (It's out on XBLA now, out on other thingies soon).

(Website)

IT IS PRETTY AWESOME GUYS.

It also has a bunch of secret characters from various other indie-ish games. :o

I haven't finished the last level of Ch6 - The End yet, but I'm almost ready to kick Dr Fetus' arse.

I wish the good old practice of releasing games for free as a work of art you want to communicate rather than a vehicle of making money was still alive to a significant degree. Games like this are just "indie" enough that I would feel slightly bad for pirating it, but not nearly "indie" enough that I would wish to support the developers financially...

I dunno, this game's been polished in terms of gameplay amazingly well. Nothing wrong with spending tenbux for a game - I couldn't even get two pints of beer for that.

Besides, the original Meat Boy flash game is free to play. SMB improves on it amazingly in every way, though.

Not to mention, you're talking about two dudes that managed to get around nickel and diming people on XBLA, deliberately and consciously for DLC. I support that :o

I would just like to say that this is $3.75 on Steam today.

I'd pick it up now if you haven't already.

It's one of the best indie games I played and was was worth definatly the orginal retail value. You're crazy to not buy it at that price.

You don't believe people should get paid for a piece of art? (Which games are, after all)

I am just slightly wary of the monetary incentives overtaking or replacing artistic expression as a motivation.

Back to the actual game.
It's rather fun, but hell to play without a gamepad.
Seriously, if I didn't have one I would regret the purchase.
Since I do, I'm enjoying the game.

On the other hand, being paid for it allows indie game makers to spend more time making the game rather than only doing it during free time.
