I hated the finals.

No hockey for me the beginning of the next season

(last year it was a team I didn't really like, this year it's a team I've hated for 10 years or so)

I'm not sure how you guys think of it, but I don't think the Ducks were really such a great team. It seems like Giguere was the main reason they got so far, at least in my opinion. I mean yeah, they were a good team, but I just think Giguere deserves a lot of the credit.

Seriously, I don't agree with Scott Niedermayer being the MVP. I think Giguere deserved it a lot more (while Niedermayer's play could've been better)

To me, Giguere deserved it, hands down. He played great throughout the playoffs, and I agree with you.

Yeah there was a lot of talk of other players who were worthy of the trophy (Giguere, Pahlsson, Alfredsson, etc.), and Scott Niedermeyer being the winner surprised me, and though I wouldn't have picked him myself I'm not necessarily displeased to see him win it.

Well, the draft has come and gone, and Buffalo native Patrick Kane was the #1 pick to the Blackhawks. Full Results

Also, the Blue Jackets, Bruins, and Capitals unveiled new logos.

The Bruins' new logo, seen here, is simply their most recent logo with the "B" changed, now resembling the logo the Bruins used from 1934-1948. The Bruins have also introduced a new alternate logo, seen here, is just their logo from 1926-1932 recolored.

The Jackets simply made their alternate logo their new primary logo.

But the Capitals underwent the most drastic change. Along with their new logo, which somewhat resembles the logo the Caps used from 1974-1995, the team will also be getting new jerseys, as seen here.

Chicago did a good move by signing Perrault, he's worth it.

Anaheim signing Schneider is also a good move.

And well, Philadelphia trying as hard as possible to get Briere was obvious.

EDIT:

Oh god, Rangers sign Scott Gomez and Drury

Ergh.

Teemu Selanne and Scott Niedermayer keep threatening to retire despite still being elite players in the league. But at least the Ducks seemed to have signed Scheider and Bertuzzi as something of security just in case the other two run off. I will disappointed to see them go but I could live with it.

(idly puts you through a flaming table covered in thumbtacks, having Chris Drury sign his deal right over your face)

Better.

Yeah, one day after he agreed to terms with the Oilers. AWK-ward...

Eh, thanks to Drury y Gomez, the Rangers have enough at center that they didn't need Nylander, yes?

The 2007-08 schedule has been released.

Also, we might be having another outdoor game this year. Signs point to it being Penguins at Sabres on New Years Day.

I like the older logos better. The new ones aren't bad but they aren't that great either.

Quite honestly, the Capital's new logo is the worst.
