I still find it hard to be outraged over this. Ever see a toddler with their ears pierced? They have just as much say in the decision as the turtle did here. And that's an issue involving human beings. The only difference is on a little girl, it's just too adorable for people to really analyze what it is: body modification performed on an (undoubtedly) unwilling patient. I pierced my daughters ears when she was almost 2 yrs old. WOW what bad timing. She kept pulling them out. Tried many different kinds of earing but she would always get them out. After spending a hundred dollars and putting her the pain of having to put new ones in before it was healed I took them out. Got them done again when she was 5 yrs old and now she loves them and most important she leaves them alone. I just got my one yrs olds done last week she has left them alone so far.
