Couldn't you curve the line guide up and back down off-screen so that the upwards moving platforms become downwards moving ones a few screens later? (Not sure how to prevent the player from riding the platforms over the level that way, though)


The "Invisible Solid Block" sprite.

Lets just hope it doesn't take up too much memory considering the number of sprites on screen.

Not possible? It should be easy as hell.

Just get a block that changes to the next MAP16 tile, set the fireball offset normally and everything else to -1, and on the map16 page set it to act like a block that Mario can climb.

Given how simple it is, and the fact that I just gave you halfassed instructions on how it works, I recommend figuring out how to do it yourself instead of waiting for someone to do it for you. Best way to learn.

Actually, there’s already a block that does that called the “Flower Block”, so all he has to do is set it to act like the vine.

I could have done that, I wasn't thinking. Duh. But will it also work for lotus fireballs and lava fireballs?

wait a sec isn't that similar to SMW Koopas apart from it walks around like it would normally except it doesn't have a shell.

Be more specific, Reini. What about a YI Koopa do you want that's different from a normal SMW Koopa? You could possibly do the graphics with ExAnimation. (I haven't checked to see if YI Koopa fits in the alloted space. You'd probably have to remap the head to avoid coins and jumping Piranhas from glitching)

This is a question more than a request, but has anybody made any generic useful routines to use in making custom sprites?

Additionally, since I didn't see it in the tutorial, is there any good place to keep extra sprite-specific data? Like an existing sprite-table in RAM that doesn't get used by anything? Or just a chunk of free RAM?

I request these listed sprites to be made.They're custom.

-a piranha plant(like the one in YI Island)
-stilt guys(someone requested this sprite)
-a charger[saw one on "Brutal Mario", known as demo6(that horse in the mansion with a horn that charges at Mario,when he's close)]
-a fire boo(you can't spin jump on it and it charges with power)
-a giant thwimp that can shake the ground and can be spin jumped at,but doesn't stun Mario)
-a reverse fire podoboo and a reverse buzzy bettle

This is just a part of the power thwomp's.What changes need to be made at this code,so that when the power thwomp hits the ground,Mario is stunned for 1.5 seconds and the power thwomp immediately goes back up and begins slamming the ground.If you think I forgot to paste the missing part of the codes that need to be changed,post here.

Solved the problem with the power thwomp.
Can someone make a frozen chargin' chuck?
You can't jump on it,but you can spin jump on it,but it won't affect it.Uses the same GFX as the normal Chargin' Chuck,but a different palette or should I say a custom palette.And it can be defeated,if you throw shells at it 5 times or more.

Can I request an Amp sprite from Super Mario 64 which goes in a circle in front of the FG and then to the BG with a width of 4 blocks?
