The Roto-Disc (what you're thinking of), if it hasn't already been created, shouldn't be much harder than a modified Fire Bar. If you're willing to dive head-first into some ASM, you could check out the firebar code and try to modify it to create a Roto-Disc.

EDIT: On a completely unrelated note, this completely helpful post earned me a totally useless 500 coins exactly. Hooray for random numbers.

Those are simple instructions. If you can't figure out how to replace certain numbers with certain other numbers in the blocktool entry for the block, then you'll need to learn that.

My first post here, I guess. D:

Anyways, I was wondering if a wind custom sprite was ever released here, because I have seen it used in some hacks (forgot which though) and if anyone has the link to it (assuming it was ever released) I would really appreciate it if they gave it. Thanks

Oh and I mean by wind custom sprite, a sprite that pushes you back like wind in random intervals of time.

You sure that isn't just movement blocks set to act like tile #25?

Think it could be possible to ASM some custom sprites from non-Mario games? Just a thought...

Would you want to use a regular rex with it? If so, would they be in the same levels? If no to the both or the second question, you're request can be done rather easily.

I'd find a continuous looping layer 2 scrolling (either up or down - preferably configurable) really interesting, as seen in this video at 0:20:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiVO9McdjdQ&feature=PlayList&p=96E3A817DDADBA2C&index=27

How it works, in case it isn't obvious, is that it moves layer 2 in a sawtooth pattern, and layer 2 is constructed such that the top and bottom portions are identical, so when it jumps back it creates the illusion of continuous movement.

This routine would also be useful for creating Mario 1 style lift columns as seen in the underground levels, and if it could work left/right for vertical levels, that would be the cherry on the thing.

I'd like, if possible: a sprite that immediately occupies the item box when touched, and while it is there, keeps mikeyk's air meter at maximum.

[Insert requests here]

You are aware that all but one of them exist, right?
For 1, that's the line guided platform.
For 2, that's the falling platform.
For 3... well, there's are winged goombas (I think) who's graphics can be modded, and Tweaked to be killable by stomping (Again, I think)
For the small goombas, however, you'd need someone to code a sprite. I have no experience with coding sprites, so I can't make it myself, however it shouldn't be too hard.

(Feel free to tell me if I misinterpreted your requests.)
