It depends on what project I'm working on at the time.

During OpenPoké, I had a browser with reference materials in the background, as well as Textpad with my own notes. But then again, I wrote the damn thing in Textpad.

When working on ABXD and stuff, I obviously have a browser running. And again, Textpad, because that's what I write my websites in.

For my chatbot, I don't have a browser running at all. Instead, it's just VS and mIRC.

For my platform game, it's just VS.

Makes sense, if you ask me.

Edit: oh and I pad out my time with locally-stored TVTropes, so that's the browser again.

mostly I was thinking about chrome(-e+ium) OS and how much filler an OS is when you consider how much can be handled off-site--really how much stuff needs to be on the computer when you're streaming/torrenting/between backing up stuff online/etc

i'm testing out replacing the full 40GBs or so of my harddrive space with online storage through google, and will see how far I can use a <1lb PC without sacrificing usage
