That reminds me of the hidden Dr. Light capsules in Mega Man X1 and X2 that when you go up to then Dr. Light appears in a Street Fighter costume and give you a street fighter technique.

I believe it was Perfect Dark for N64 that had these random wedges of cheese in some of the levels. Of course the game was by Rare so you almost do expect something like that to be in there.

Also, Donkey Kong 64: After you get all 201 Golden Bananas, all 3500 regular bananas, all banana fairies, etc. and then beat K. Rool, there was that ending scene after the credits that was like a director's set with blooper stuff going on. That was some of the most random stuff I've ever seen in a game, yet I burst out laughing while watching it.

Apparently they planned to have the cheese unlock something when collected, but didn't get a chance to implement it.
