why don't producers/sellers use non-legal (not illegal) means of getting people who have already pirated to pay up, or help establish a system which would allow for such remedies?
think of it as a proverbial tap on the shoulder by a worker to a customer walking out with their product. |

Um, what do you mean by "non-legal", if not "illegal"? ____________________ |

Producers want money from their hard work. As far as their hard work is in the software domain, there will always be hackers to crack their software and release free cracks or whatever.
I find the shareware concept to be kinda stupid though. It's like a continual war between producers and hackers. Yet there's no shareware that hasn't been cracked, and I doubt there will ever be one. Shareware is bound to get cracked someday. If producers want money they'd better work on something material. ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

Posted by Mega-Mario producers deserve every possible means of remedying the losses sustained from piracy e:at the same time it infuriates me endlessly that an artist would stigmatize his audience for trying to access his work at all costs--they could very easily settle for a fair price (like 100$ instead of threatening people to court and treating them like criminals). yes even pirates have rights |
