Miiiiinecraft...Meat Boy. And a few other games that don't start with M.
Meat boy is quite fun! I 100% the three first worlds so far, including the glitch level for each world. Starting to get really challanging in those dark worlds x.x

I've been indulging in some Zelda action lately, and I'm finally going to be adding both The Minish Cap and Twilight Princess to my list of cleared Zelda titles (bringing the unfinished list down to Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks).

I truthfully should have had TP finished years ago, but it is SO DAMN LONG for a Zelda title that I always get sidetracked and stop playing after a while...but hopefully not this time.

Also playing the most recent Mario vs. Donkey Kong game, and I must say it's a lot more fun than my initial impression of it (I only picked it up to begin with because I wanted a non-falling block puzzle game for my DS). It's got a heck of a lot of content, too (over 100 stages, including hard mode versions of the levels once the game is cleared), and it even has a construction mode that is extremely reminiscent of Megaman Powered Up's (in that you can create and upload/download to/from the internet; of course, most of the custom levels I've seen so far suck royally, but that shouldn't discourage you). It should keep anyone busy for a good long while.

I thought Twilight Princess was fairly short for a Zelda game? Then again, the timesink elements of Wind Waker made TP seem shorter probably cause you didn't spend as much time on mindless quests.

Which version of TP? Despite what most fans seems to think, I actually really like the Wii controls.

The thought of doing the bandage girl zone in dark world is giving me nightmares already ><

I 100%'d the three first world. Completely finished the light world on hell, and progressing through the dark worlds levels randomly as I feel like it.

I spend an average of 10 hours on most Zelda titles (though the first two are doable in 3-6 for me since I know them well), but first clears are usually 12-20 hours for me.

My first TP file had about 20 hours and I wasn't even halfway through the game...second file was 25 hours and I was about to go to Snowpeak. Third (current) file is at 17 hours and I'm going to Snowpeak now...so I guess it isn't too long provided you know exactly where to go, but there certainly are lots of extra cutscenes and running around compared to the other Zelda titles. I don't see anyone beating it (with equal skill/knowledge) faster than any of the first four Zelda titles...nor many others.

Also, Gamecube version all the way since I couldn't be bothered to wait to get a Wii. In spite of the protest of my friends, I have never once regretted this purchase decision.

I gave the original (free) Meat Boy a try the other day.

Got up to roughly the end of the Salt Factory, but found the controls just slightly too coarse-grained and annoying... but it was somewhat fun while it lasted nevertheless and the soundtrack was nice.

Super Meat Boy fixed the controls. It's much better and tighter, then again you probably saw the huge disclaimer the newgrounds page had. XD

Well, Christmas and my birthday have come and gone and I got some new toys to play with.

First is Donkey Kong Country Returns. So far, it lives up to the hype it's generated. The physics feel floatier to me for some reason, but it'll just take some getting used to and I'll be golden. It sure would've been nice if I could choose to play as Diddy (I completely neglected Donkey in the original DKC). I've only played the first level so far, but if every level is at least as good as that...then woah.

Second is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Everywhere I've been on the internet has accused the game of being a God of War clone, but since I've never played that game, I could never see the resemblance because it seems more like an enhanced version of the two PS2 Castlevania titles. Now that I've finally gotten to play it, all I've got to say is wow...I'm disappointed. It's basically Lament of Innocence on steroids...and more linear. :\ I'll offer more input as I get further, but so far, I'm not impressed...and I had to repeat a boss fight like literally 15 times because I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do after I grab him to "finish him off."

Thirdly is Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light (why they don't spell out "4" is beyond me). I was actually very hyped for this game before its release, but since I've played both FF3 and FF4 for the DS (and have yet to finish either due to my dislike of them) I tried to remain skeptical. Looks like my skepticism paid off; I can't say it's got me hooked in the least. Like the other two, I'll give it a while longer before placing my judgment upon it. I normally love the cutesy cel-shaded art style, but here it honestly seems to detract from the experience.

Like I said in the Christmas thread, I got Persona 4 and the Sonic Classic Collection. I also went out to Gamestop today and redeemed the gift cards I got to pay off Pokemon Black and White, as well as picked up Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2.

I've been playing Minecraft and Golden Sun on and off.

I've been fucking around in Minecraft the past few days, exploring and whatnot. I'm working on a rather large project right now, a huge 20x20x6 (18x18x5 inside) library that will be full of bookshelves... So far, I've cleaned myself out of logs and reeds, and haven't even finished two rows of bookshelves. It's gonna be awesome when it's done, though.

I've already expressed my distaste for Golden Sun in the Town Square thread. Points of no return are never good to implement in RPGs, under no circumstances does it make sense to do that. The first two games never actually fully cut the player off from an area, the worst they did was say, "You can come back here later, when you have better things at your disposal."

I haven't started Persona yet, I kinda wanna hold off for a bit. I've heard great things about this game, and what I've seen is pretty impressive.

I don't care much for Sonic, never really have, but I figure since I have 1 through 3 and Sonic and Knuckles on one game card, I may as well give them a shot.

As for Viewtiful Joe, I started the first one on Hard. I made it to the second stage, but not before a game over. :/ I first played it for Gamecube (Togg had it), so I had to adjust to the PS2 controls.

Monday Night Combat

I would explain it as some third person TF2-esque shooter, that manages to be even more arcade and incorperating elements of tower defense (and DOTA apparently? Never played DOTA) all to a theme that strongly parodies the "gladiator" kind of gameshow, not taking iself seriously. It's defiantly a fun little game, if just really buggy right now (it's still "beta" though, you get the beta if you preorder).

Right now, playing Super Meat Boy and a little bit of N+. The game I've been playing the most lately is Golden Sun: DD. Fun game, though I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the first two... GS3 just feels like a series of detours than anything else...

Played through the HD version of Eversion and also finished it with all achievements within two hours according to steam? Slightly disturbing and lovecraftian at parts, but not as much as the game would like to advertise.

Found it amusing how one of the achievements requires editing of the game files.

I think the original PC version did a slightly better job at maintaining the atmosphere than the Wii version with its beefed up graphics, partly because simplicity plus imagination does a much better job at being horrifying than cute vector graphics can.

I dunno, I took a quick look at the freeware version and the added backgrounds and "improved" (or in some cases, changed slightly) graphics makes a different. Like the first initial layer you "everse" into looks happy yet rather... artificial, which did make me stop to think and react. In the freeware it goes from euphoric happiness to just plain happy.

I like the new "easter egg" ending, which I found kind of amusing. (they just sit there until you press esc)

Why have I not heard of Eversion until just this moment? Same thing happened to me with Cave Story.
