my only problem right now is that i cant fit the classic suit pieces entirly. thisll make the sprite look like its been sliced up in certain areas. i may need help from a very experienced hacker who can basically dissect the game, odds of that are most likly slim though... ____________________ YEAZ! Not endorsing you to contact him as he might be 'retired' from the MZM/MF hacking scene these days and might feel bugged, but you MIGHT get some help from Interdpth, the creator of Double Helix, the comprehensive MZM/MF editor.
He hangs around #jzd in irc.esper.net. He also has an AIM account but I can't remember what it was. ____________________ oh |

hmm, i remember on utube there was someone named traunar(mitve mispelled it) who was able to fit a workin sa-x sprite in mzm, he was gonna do project called the sa-x project on mzm but he stopped due to certain things(i cant remember), on mf though he acutally managed to find a unused sa-x walkin animation. he mit be another person that could do it as well... ____________________ YEAZ! Posted by Naulahauta My aim is...interdpth And I'm more catchable in #metconst Samu's sprite is stored in several mini sprites, arms, legs and body are all their own parts, not sure where the OAM data for it is. But that'd contain all the positioning information. I may have it somewhere I can look when I get home. But it's all rather easy once you get the hang of it. :p ____________________ lawl blog http://interdpths.blogspot.com/ |

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with hacking this game or the unLZ-GBA utility.
All of the members who posted in this topic also haven't been active here for years, as the last post is from over 5 years ago. Unfortunately, there's little to no chance that any of them will even notice this question here. So, I just tried to Google a few relative subjects and terms to see what I could find. Are you familiar with Metroid Construction? They have a large Documents section, as well as a forum. There are 3 documents specifically covering Samus' animations, though it appears that they aren't for Metroid Fusion. I found that Data Crystal has a page for Metroid Fusion, but I couldn't find any recorded offsets specifically for Samus' graphics in either the RAM or ROM maps, but rather only a bunch of palette offsets in the ROM map. After a bit more searching, I believe that I found the holy grail collection of documents. Specifically, interdpth's site. Index: http://interdpth.arc-nova.org/PJs%20stuff/ This document in particular for Metroid Fusion is for a bunch of data related specifically to Samus: http://interdpth.arc-nova.org/PJs%20stuff/ROM%20data/Fusion/Samus%20data.txt Although, now that I look at it again, it appears that they might be RAM addresses and not ROM addresses, even though the file is in a ROM data directory. Reviewing the topic, there's this post that we both probably should have seen from the start: Posted by NaulahautaI don't know if it's really what you're looking for though, considering that you posted in this topic specifically, and presumably read through it before doing so. So yeah, again, I'm really, really not familiar with this game on neither a playing or hacking level, unfortunately. I'm really sorry that you're stuck. Perhaps you could manage to get in contact with interdpth elsewhere, via email or if they're still active through the Metroid Construction message boards. All I can really recommend to manage on your own is lots of trial and error. If you need an offset to put into the utility, couldn't you theoretically insert an offset and see if it works, and if it doesn't, then try the next? Other than that, try browsing through and saving all of the other documents on the aforementioned websites and collect as many resources of information as you possibly can for yourself to study from. As you build experience from working on your projects, you'll learn more to potentially be able to figure more things out on your own. I wish you the best of luck with your hopeful project, and would like to personally welcome you to Board 2. Thank you for finding and joining us. We hope you enjoy your stay. You're still free to ask your questions here if you would like. Perhaps there's something that someone here can effectively assist you with. Again, I apologize for my lack of knowledge for your specific focus in this case. |

How have other hackers done it in the past? Maybe there are certain people who can help if they feel like it. Doesn't hurt to ask. I don't know but maybe the people at the place Quick mentioned can help. |

Rather amazed that there's still people out there who want to make this ambition a reality. All I can tell you is keep trying at it if you still are, it's difficult but it is definitely not impossible in my opinion. |

When I made this thread back then yes I was pretty deep into it, but after so long I ended up drifting away from it to tend to life problems. Can't say I can be much of help now than I would be back then considering it's been so long and all the tools I had at my disposal were lost from my old computer getting fried.. |
