Found this yesterday while hacking Snake Rattle n Roll for NES, and I don't think it's too widely known since I heard zeroes mentions on it. And while using tiles as letters isn't anything new, it's still sneaky in how they done it.

In the map of Snake Rattle n Roll, one level spells out Nintendo Gameboy! Both are hard to make out as words ingame as you only see one letter at the time at most, and the elevation making it less obvious.

Nintendo Gameboy! (included a screenshot from my alpha level editor on the first screenshot as it's easier to see Nintendo in the editor than on the landscape)

Oh yeah, no screenshot of it but I checked out the Genesis remake and they changed it to "SNAKER+ RGOSEGA" or "Snake R+R Go SEGA". Which is interesting as the Genesis version is almost nearly identical on the main world otherwise (it only changed the bonus stage mechanics and added a extra space level that isn't part of the "world" anyway).

I'd assume the guys at Rare wanted it to be foreshadowing to the Sneaky Snakes game for Gameboy, which is unfortunately a sidescrolling platform game and not even a noteworthy one. :/

Wow! I never knew about that.

And A Snake Rattle and Roll editor would be awesome!

That's pretty cool, mate. Grew up with the game and never noticed it.

Also, sex editor!

This is interesting. I've personally never played the game though.

Also, sex editor!

If you consider mutilation of JTable (and TableModal) sexy, sure.

Can't really promise if it goes anywhere, since my initial goal is making myself tools to help explore the data more easily.
