My brother's birthday is coming up, so my sisters and I pitched in to get him an onyx ds lite and hotel dusk: room 215. The funny thing is that it was easier to find a ps3 than this game. I've heard many great things about it and thought that my brother would like it because he has always been interested in adventure games. Also, he has been reading books and watching movies since he was very young so great stories always intrigue him more than anything else.
Those who have played Hotel Dusk, what do you think of the game? |

EGM gave it a fricking 10 and two 9's.
I may have to get it. ____________________ I miss post headers more. |

having just played it, i'm bumpin this thread.
most of the puzzles are very stupid and easy and there isn't much freedom, but it's one of my favorite games. the dialogue and characters are great, it's a really interesting story. i really recommend it to all of you folks. i enjoyed it immensely, and i don't even like novels, but hotel dusk was really special. i loved it, and i'm sure most of you would love it. |

It's a good read, that's for sure. I quite enjoyed it.
I never understand the people who claim that games like this have no replay value. They've got plenty - more than a lot of games - you just have to put six or more months between each replay. By then, the story's fresh, and it's like picking up an old favorite book again and rereading it. |

not only that, but there's also things you miss to clarify the story, and the second run of hotel dusk is supposed to clear things up. for example, why were 218 and 220 still closed? that's to be found out in the second run through, it seems. |

it's sort of like point n' click(i guess?) with various puzzles along the way. additionally, when you're talking to people different options of what to say come up. the way you treat people decides how things turn out later on. the 'puzzles' are pretty easy, but there's a lot of thinking involved sometimes. you've gotta be quick to get through the game fast(took me about 12 hours or so).
PROTIP: be nice but be honest too here's some gameplay clips if you want to see: |
